Tramp Stamp
There was a cute young man
where I worked
Who was buying his
fishing license
And I
so matter o factly
asked him if he wanted
his tramp stamp with that
He quickly chimed in
Let's see
I am going camping
and if I catch a tramp
without the stamp
is the DNR
gonna fine me??...

I Have Three Ghosts
I have three ghosts in my house.
This is said matter-of-factly
by the one person in the work place I would have NEVER expected to say it.
She not only describes them, she names them.
I am super dooper impressed.
She has now become more human to me.
I like her more than I ever had before....

maybe not friends at all
You are the pickiest eater she said
And I thought we were friends
There you are playing in your food he said
I looked at my plate; it was not playing
Do all friends criticize or just my friends?
I look at the skeleton of my cake
I ate what I wanted, I say
Not defensively, but matter-of-factly.
They look at each other and snort
Maybe not friends at all
I can do better...

Acquisition of a Fresh Perspective
will you please wake up
but first signal where
you will place your dreams
not there my grey hair
and nitro tablets might not mix
your eyes so matter-of-factly
smack me upon my brow
a reminder of how the years
can grow grass through concrete
or turn boulders to sand
forgive me if I piffle
forgive me if I bore
but you must know that I
can’t piss like a stripling anymore...

A Nightmare
The system aborts.
(Multiple organs failure)
A deviant art
of dying pompously.
I wish, I was on a -
moving floor, sailing
without a walk, looking at
the camouflaged ceiling.
The shrill voice of a whistle-
blower, mimics an opera.
I will snatch the words,
raw, from your lips.
It was here, in absence.
Your poesy, matter-of-factly.
Can you raise your voice
against the fall of the thing.

The Color of Cultures
The Color of Cultures
A poem
By Jerry May
Above and below the skins surface no one is the same....exactly,
But appearance divides us just the same...matter of factly.
A sudden blindness wouldn't cure racial competition and divide,
Because each race inherited cultural differences by which we are defined.
However, by accepting every person's right to uniquely exist,
We are really plotting the course of our own peace and happiness....

Where's the Respect for Your Elders?
A long time ago when our first grandson was young -
I think around the age five or six -
there was a phone call we made to him
to say hello and talk with him for kicks.
We'd tried to make it short because of his attention span.
He’s a kid who later became a not-too chatty young man!
I felt surprised and a bit insulted
(was talking to our grandson such a bore?)
when he said very soon and matter-of-factly:
“What am I still talking to you guys for?”...

Daydreaming At the Pizzeria
She said it so matter-o-factly,
that girl, Morgan Kay Ackley.
"One day it will be so
I'll be rolling in the dough!"
But being a pizza maker what do you mean exactly?
NOTE: This was another funny story at work. Not exactly my joke, but I turned into a limerick for laughter's sake. A girl was telling me about how she's be famous one day... how she'll be "rolling in the dough"... and I was like, "aren't you doing that already?"... Ooohh good times they were... good times....

Limerick
Geraldine and Me
She asked me to dance.
Matter-of-factly, led me
Held my eager hands -
She ruled, and I followed.
Cling to smell of cinnamon, while
She saw dark chocolate, craving to be had.
Neat and tidy as she, speaking.
Charting language of love, virginally.
Naturally, I clamored.
Loving everything of Geraldine
But granny said, "girls don't dance with girls."
She seemed twelve, and I, eleven, sat carefree.
Then Granny and Hurricane Hattie stepped in
Changed trajectory of our love.
