Acquisition of a Fresh Perspective

will you please wake up
but first signal where
you will place your dreams
not there my grey hair
and nitro tablets might not mix

your eyes so matter-of-factly
smack me upon my brow
a reminder of how the years
can grow grass through concrete
or turn boulders to sand

forgive me if I piffle
forgive me if I bore
but you must know that I
can’t piss like a stripling anymore

An interesting piece for sure Richard! I do love that you read your work. It gives it a different creative edge. I like to read it first and then listen for both experiences :)

Thanks Judith. I like hearing Ann Sexton read her poems. She was great.

Well done, Richard. I love the audio with it - the personality and the reality bite in your words. Always, Laura

This poem was so subliminal. Whatever the hell that means.
