maybe not friends at all
You are the pickiest eater she said
And I thought we were friends
There you are playing in your food he said
I looked at my plate; it was not playing
Do all friends criticize or just my friends?
I look at the skeleton of my cake
I ate what I wanted, I say
Not defensively, but matter-of-factly.
They look at each other and snort
Maybe not friends at all
I can do better
