Rothko
With the undulating girl of my dreams,
In my arms.
I rock back and forth, the night away,
Until the yellow ball bounces on my head,
And extracts a foolish smile, from my unwanting lips....

Mother-Of-Pearl Tm
Its trademark shows what, it once used to sell,
Now it extracts, liquid gold from a well.
Starting with gifts for a girl,
    Adorned with mother-of-pearl.
That gave the oil magnates, the name of Shell.

Determination
Hanging on
A thin bending stem
A little bumblebee
Refuses to fall.

Wind blows stronger,
Even tighter he clings,
Determined not to lose.

Tenacity is rewarded
As he buries his head
Within the crimson heart
Of a delicate rose
And extracts
The sweetest
Richest, golden nectar....

EXTRACTS
speculations
of
identity
so
unintentional
bring
 intensity
 dovetailed
with
uncertainty
mixed
in
 doubt
brings
watchfulness

in
breathless
sensations
linger
in
twilight
where
the
impulse
of
 fact&reason
so
palpables
in design
& magnificent
axiomatic

Reverse
As solemn curse extracts the entity of worse,
so moderating to a lesser verb
excoriates to slang of verse.

And so it is derivative's adverse,
is anger, that I cannot love thee - terse,
with gentle thought as in some morning's nurse.

I love thee, there it be, in violence or curse -
I love thee, love thee, love thee - no reverse!...

It Does Not Matter
After a face – off
you toss the coin
resenting the liquid fame.

Frame extracts the price
of picture.
Compassion for the artist was missing.

I suffer in mid moon
between darkness and light
clarity of rags was improving.

Homage is now going to hurt
after the fall of ego, in
ending of alchemy.

In spite or sorrow
a face drills holes
in my wheels.

For a string of warm, sunny days
   December extracts her pay
A clipper sails in from the West
   Reprieve's end, Nature's stern test

Thermometers plummet
Mild rains, now ice and snow
You and I draw near the fireplace
   Nowhere pressing to go

Let the wind shriek and howl
   Old Man Winter's wrath flow
Cozy in each other's arms
   Hearth and hearts all aglow...

When
I
When you have used up nerve, muscle, sinew
To be all you dreamed for others and for you
Then the soul alone can make you move at all
That is how U write like Rumi, Emily, Hawthorne

II
When death and evil seem greater than good
When darkness seems omnipresent, not God
Then Scripture within extracts - in pain - a Word
That stirs in U all U took on earth for living bread...

Endless Cycle of Rain
A rumble of thunder
roars throughout
the dark furious clouds.

At dusk, grey sheets pour from
the overly moistened southern sky.

From the mount's tip
to the green valley below
humid thirst is quenched.

The bolts' jagged streaks
of energized light
momentarily deny any shadows.

Dawn breaks to overflowing pools
of varying bluish hues.

An orange solar heat
extracts a gift of brew
from the soaked wet land....

Life's Tapestry
Life's Tapestry

Life begins: a single thread
Inlayed throughout as one
Faceted; a tapestry
Entwining hopes and dread
'Sembling extracts not quite done.

Torn brocades of woven silk
Aloft on dusty walls
Pull at strings of mother's milk
Ellipsing vacant halls.
Shadows press the looking glass
Towards the light then fall.
Running colours fading fast
Yaw past the muted call.

The Flower Essence Cure
Do flower essences cure
maladies?

Flower essences made from
Edible flowers are safer.
Rose,lavender,rosemary.
Cover in a glass with pure
water and position in direct
sunlight for a few hours.
The warmth of the sun extracts
the essence from the flowers
into the water.
Wella,you have flower essence!

Unless preserved,this essence
stays fresh for only a day.
Dr. Edward Bach's research
was the inspiration....

The Rachel Quinn Acrostic-Italian Sonnet 11-8-2012
Taken to awaken favored
Havens, where images are stored,
Expressions, one can not ignore,
Render visions that are savored.
Aesthetic art provides flavor,
Catering to a hungry core,
Hungry eyes, hungering for more
Extracts that can not be wavered.
Literary images show
Quintessential beauty in ink;
Uncompromised poetic flow.
Imaginations are in sync,
Now that she glows from head to toe,
Named as the one, of which I think....

Vast shimmering space, throbbing by God’s grace, beheld in clear sight ~ self-existent light. Tong of truth extracts behind the veil facts, unknown to our mind, which we’ve left behind. God’s light, soft white shines and love for love pines to assimilate bliss in stillness sedate. There’s no here or there, for God’s everywhere; if our eye’s single, pheromones mingle. 03-December-2022

Age of the Straw
Silently you went to disappear in blue -
alone or unalone -
I was watching a moth
on the burning lamp in night way
scrawled flat as death’s signature
on the heap of broken wings,
between space and time
an extra dimension,

the position of a point from void to
center of chaos,
life extracts the measurement,

a smile lost the lips
a vision, eyes –
outside body, the soul scribbles
mist and crumbs of age.

Eternal Wait
Fear of becoming sane
inherits the hate of earth.
I wake up in the rains of time.

Fire of soul
extracts the thought shapes
like stark naked truth
in the desert of pain –

unbirthing the child of wisdom.
I hardly think, in my failures.
The house will go up in blaze
by the earthen lamp of fading glory.

There was no light, a quick death
of lips and speech. The human touch-
prints had avenged for words.
Inspiration will wait.

Failure
(01/08/2011)

He catches dreams in struggling
minds
He extracts them into a darkened
one
Sends them back into our thoughts
Will haunt our reality and kill us
slowly
Not going crazy is more than lucky!'

Does he even exist?
It was my same question
Once, he grabbed my wrist
His grey abstract existence, only I could see
My luck has fled freely
I gave my left strength as a wimp
I could feel he writes my obituary
My hopes had turned to grim
scheme...
