Heart and Hearth

For a string of warm, sunny days December extracts her pay A clipper sails in from the West Reprieve's end, Nature's stern test Thermometers plummet Mild rains, now ice and snow You and I draw near the fireplace Nowhere pressing to go Let the wind shriek and howl Old Man Winter's wrath flow Cozy in each other's arms Hearth and hearts all aglow

Lovely imagery; it sounds like Old Man Winter is in Chicago right now.

The Old Man's here, but only for 48 hours. Not bad for December! I'll even grant him the Senior Discount. :) gw

Gershon, Line said it well. This is so nice to find this warmth in the midst of 'old Man Winter's wrath'. Light the hearth in our hearts. -Richard
