Silent as the name sounds
Sanctity in waters and revered land....

Embracing You
Embracing you!

I am your obedient, prettiest slave;
dwelling in that celestial enclave.
Reading your curves on your palms,
Allow me to recite your holy psalms;
Embracing you in my strong arms,
Allow me to dwell in your dreams

Under a nylon dome
         upside, raindrops patter
                   upon my small enclave
                           unusual patterns
                   unique, sliding over
          ubiquitous water
 upends the stormy skies.

When Love Went Away
When Love went away evicting my empty enclave......,

Bats scream silent echoes of a haunting voice.
In an overcast sky, shooting stars disappear.
Bees spin in whirls as wine gets strong.
Snow footprints melt, weak imprints of memory.

Once a Meat-Vendor in Mylapur*
Set up shop (O!) Brahmin virtue pure
No hungry customers
Knocked past the front shutters
Though brisk business raged at rear door.

Brahmins were not vegetarians from antiquity.

Water beneath bridges is always made to move
below the penumbra of our blessed moon.
She flows freely through the mouth of its enclave
taking with her every notion of solidity;
I stand here firm as a rock watching her pour herself out
she slows my senses as she extinguishes my
burning thoughts, and makes me think of
Superman !...

Resting
I lay my head on a green meadow
and dream about the glory of a time,
when hearts flickered beneath red stars
and retrace memories entwined.

Into peaceful isle of slumber,
Bring me to your quiet enclave
That I may rest with our loving flare
Embracing the peace in silence.

Past journey’s edge, this dream I bless
While in deep sleep, the light sets free
My wishful oath to reunite
Through incarnation's harmony.

Nneka
Nneka (Mother is supreme)

My precursor with nature
From the yolk of her embryo
I was fermented
Entwined in the warm enclave of her cyst
Out of her fountain of love
She nurtured me
Queen mother
The seasoned bone of my back
The shelter over my head
Whose large, black eyes immune me
From the discrepancies of morning
Love, kindness are your first and middle names
King mother,
I yearn to be recycled in the metamorphosis of your cyst!...

Mahakaal
So many times I chanted the prayer
from childhood to now that I forget
what I pray for or want repeating
mantras while walking at dusk or seeing
images on the lingam that stir
the flame Shiva harnesses deep within

my numbed feet stop before growling dogs
trained to ignore strangers whose lips don’t utter
their names or who aren’t free in leash like them
I fail to filter the chasing darkness
from roadside temple to Sarna Enclave

Forgotten
Dame’s Rockets grow atop her grave: Pinks, whites and purples flourish here in this cemetery enclave where no one has visit in years. Her oblique, weatherworn headstone stands aside a nearby roadside hidden amid weeds, unbeknown to motorist who pass where she lies. An effortful deciphering failed to clarify her birth year Born April first [obscured] in spring Died forgotten this much is clear except for these fragrant bouquets that perfume above her grave today.
