Desert

Rivers dry up
                                       From the shrink of woods
                                               Craggy faces

Fall Away

it falls away
never built to last
one hangs on
while the other fasts
the words dry up
and disappear
soon, it hasn't been weeks
it's been years

Beats of Despair

Graffiti walls and trash strewn streets
Hope withers before it can grow
 Despair plays in steady beats
 With somber scenes to show
Dreams dry up before they flow

Without Me

You were like a flower i wanted
But I knew if I picked you
You would die an dry up
With your fragrance an beauty
I'll just keep on walking
So you can keep on blooming...

Without me

Teaching Poetry Makes Me Feel Weak

we started with thomas hardy
we went onto dickinson
then onto wordsworth
as the clock
ticks
by
the material makes me dry up like a leaf (that’s a simile)
damn these poets and their puniness

blow away

absorbing you
like thirsty earth

hard, brittle ground
it isn't easy

so many rain drops
run off
before you
get under my skin

now
I could be
saturated

and you

dry up and

blow away

The Truth

As time goes on
Emptiness grows
Tears dry up
Love is not found
Pain takes place for love
Making one suffer
They think they are happy
The pain is making emptiness grow
Hearts become hard
Eyes become cold
Pain becomes the way of life

Nevermore

Nevermore

Never in my dreams
could I construe his intent,
As always ersatz...
Abysmal tears of content
dry up in deceit sometimes.

Out of Ink

Out of Ink

Mr. Rorschach if you will
dry up; lend me your quill.

I’ll cast some inspiration
for your interpretation.

Dumbfounded pen
out of ink again.

If I could find a trickle,
my poem would fetch a nickel

I Am Going Home Today

I am coming home today
I have been away too long
I long to be there to stay
I have sung such a sad song

See the smile upon my face
See I’ve fought the good fight
See the tears dry up no disgrace
See that I will be home tonight,

A Peach Too Far

Not out of sight,
but far away
like a fresh peach
rosey on the top
branch of a tree,
he was too far
for me to reach.

Some other woman,
a better climber,
might pick and eat
that distant fruit,
or a bird perhaps,
or maybe he’ll dry up
and wither on the vine.

Hold

Holding my temper, I cry
Holding my eyes, I censor
Holding my tongue, I’m muted
Holding my ears, I deafen
Holding my hunger, I starve
Holding my thirst, I dry up
Holding my love, I push back
Holding my zakat, I give
Holding everything Holy;
Holding and shunning evil.

Tears

Tears, silly tears,
Tears, gullible tears,
They have no color
They have no feelings
They have no emotions
Come joy or sorrow
They flow out
From their eye-burrows
Like saline rivers
Towards unseen sweet water oceans
And dry up on barren cheek deserts

Tears, silly tears!

Our Fate Awaits

The days stretch so long,
sky hot and burning.
Unbearable heat
shall dry up this earth,
split the ground apart.

We have lost sight,
not in control
of destiny
or of our world.

Wait to die,
fate awaits
to take us.

Look back,
too late!

Gone!

Untitled

Stabbed in my soul,
With a kiss,
Trust and honesty,
Shoved away by her lips,
In meeting with his,
Compromising love's mission,
Distubing the serene,
My heart put out on the windowsill,
To dry up and condense,
Into solidified pain,
Served to me for dessert,
After a painful meal.

Have You Ever

have you ever wanted to cry but the tears just dry up inside

have you ever wanted to breath but your gasps for air won't feel your lungs

have you ever wanted to reach but can't quite get there no matter how far you extend

have you ever really wanted to die let go all the feelings inside

My Resolve

My Resolve

I must, even when strangulated
I’ll wrestle laxity spirits
Trample financial boulders
Level opposition Mountains
Muster my breath against ill winds
Dry up the sea of worries

I must, even when strangulated
Race against age and time
Walk on the waters of faith
Cultivate farms of goodwill
Play the music of love
Must above all, survive!

I Am a Rose

i am a rose,
My body made of many layers
Filled with strength and several prayers

Sun and water are food to my soul,
Like my parents trimming, tender touch, and trust
For with out them I’d wilt, dry up, and turn to dust

I am determined, courageous and rarely blue
Some say a rose means I love you
I am a rose with a stem straight and true.

Chronoaqua

We're all fish in a stream
The water pushes and ages us
and we can't counteract it.
Water knows nothing about looking back.
The dead become part of the ocean
where we'll all be someday.
We will drown into darkness
as death is absolute and perfect
for it never missed a single life.
All streams will one day dry up
and nobody will be remembered.

Blazing Hot Summer Asphalt Wallows---

blazing hot summer
a black, bad asphalt wallows
melts into dry grass

bugs get stuck dry-up
frozen in heated black spot
burnt alive dead stuck

what is it left but...
chard, burnt amber drops dots
blaze burn up insects

melts into dry grass
a black, bad asphalt wallows
hot summer blazing

Bashful Sun

Come out from behind that

distant cloud, don't be so

bashful, we won't hurt you.

Spring flowers delaying

their growth without

your light to shine on them.

Gardens having hissy fits,

without your heat to

dry up the water that

the rain sent.

So don't be bashful, or shy

come on out and shine for us

once again.

Playing Hide and Seek

Oh glorious sun arising
I see you are a shining
Giving out your warmest glow
Melting even keenest snow

Who knows wherest you'll appear
Maybe on a coastal pier
Or playing hide and seek
Through clouds you'll peak

Your rays on beds will gently warm
Gently you do tease springs form
As all of natures colour comes through
You dry up all the morning dew.

Old Fashioned Love

With my heart wide open
I wait for you to appear.
I'm tired of being all alone
as I face another year.

I have a lot of love to give
I've stored up through the years.
Waiting for you to find me
and dry up all these tears.

I know somewhere there has to be
a heart with feelings like mine.
A heart that's crying out for love
the good, old fashioned kind.

When

When I run out of things to say
I can no longer put pen to paper
That's when flowers loose their fragrant
alluring scent.

When I no longer have a voice-
I can no longer pen my heart
That's when I become as a mime who has
lost all motion.

For I can no longer express my love
How very much you mean to me
Then shall my memories dry up as the
sands of time.

Yehovah El Olam

You are Yehovah God the Eternal.
What You were You will continue to be;
That which you are now you will always be.
Therefore, I am not afraid.
Let the high mountains fall down.
Let the deepest seas dry up.
Let fire consume all the earth.
Let the flood wash all away.
Let my enemies oppress.
I will not tremble and fear.
Yehovah you are my refuge and strength.
