Our Fate Awaits

The days stretch so long,
sky hot and burning.
Unbearable heat
shall dry up this earth,
split the ground apart.

We have lost sight,
not in control
of destiny
or of our world.

Wait to die,
fate awaits
to take us.

Look back,
too late!

Gone!

This poem is very distinct in form but similar to the nonet, and its theme/subject quite delicate yet relevant. Brilliant presentation. We are the only planet about to self-destruct.
