Empathy
When in bondage your spirit flies
Your voice a distant, bleeding dove
On the table of my heart lies
The silent shadow of drooped love...

my heart was touched in a very special way--
when a lady gave me part of her bouquet! :O

yellow roses, withdrawn from their upright crowd

Aging
Hands, aged with sun
Rings grown too tight
Feet, wrinkled by walk
Eyes drooped with tire
Hair stringed with dye
Teeth yellowed with coffee

Each wrinkle
Each taint
Each sun-spot
Each grey hair
Filled with experience
And meaning...

A Sketch
Hibiscus drooped, sheds
Petals in the gust of rain ...
A broken heart dies

Swallows swivel rain
Above water stifled grass .. .
Memories of joy

Light covers the earth
And dust make rainbows appear ...
I am that poem

Sky and tablecloth of stars....

The pretty yellow tulips
   stood up firm and straight
My wife not home from work yet
   I could hardly wait...

She came downstairs too slowly
her face all in a frown
The pretty tulips drooped, she said
~ as the sun sank quickly down...

Past Love
In awe of him I stared as if he a mountain
of grey glaciers where black butterflies
drooped wings eyelids of the miserable mourner
our wasted limbs entwined, celtic knots half drawn
wilted wanderers wanting a feather bed
on which to lie, under glinting satin sunsets....

Premium Member Scarse Rain In September
A September day threatened by rain,
can promise a glint when clouds don't swell
and eagles still fly in empty skies;
the rich soil wasn't cracked by drought,
paths were shady and hair-breath...
peach' trees drooped with fruits,
robins gathered
on them 'till
sunset
came!...

Autumn Morning
neath firmament arched chilly gray,
black schnauzer sniffs, her leash drooped slack
beside my footfalls echoing
past lampposts painting puddles gold …
damp taste of winter … summer-thoughts …
thank goodness pink clouds herald day

Brave is the rose caught in November’s thorn

While she endures nights of chill and snow,

Awaiting gold daylight's warmth to bestow---

And liven her frame…her mouth drooped, forlorn.

Alphabet Soup
What waters we drink from
starry eyed and staring

Alphabet soup

What think we of ourselves
to fill from dank and dark murk

Alphabet soup

What angels with drooped wings
Ask for a better applause

What tribe to our children do we offer
When we drink from the sin-silly waters of...

WAITING FOR SPRING
I sowed seed of love In my heart’s meadow After harsh summer In rains I nurtured Rose plant of desire. Rose bloomed in spring On butterfly I carried scent To your sky far. In storm surge Cold sky fell Flower drooped. For spring Waste heart Waits.

Rondure Creeps Revered
eerie contractions etched
fostering fractured fetch
poring punctured pulses
worn winds wield
felon feigns drooped
hoisting hankering drools

bruised barks moaned
heaving sigh sown
by blitzkrieg enthroned

dark diminuendo dribble
cupping callous cripple
nocturnal nature nimble

spunky shaver severed
rondure creeps revered.

Soft rain had blurred the lines
Softened the edges
Frizzed the sharpness
Of artistic angst

Smiles drooped,
fingers grew thinner,
somehow reaching out.

The eyes caught the raindrops
Blinked them into dappled blues
Noses spread in humor's humidity
Glasses sliding from their tips

They would all leave
Float away on a
Chalky rainbow river

Leaving us to wonder
Where do they go?

Morning Prayer
Moisture laden morning air
wraps pale shawls round sleepy trees;
wee birds sing in cool garden
lifting praise on pleasing breeze.
Bees busy dusting flowers,
packing perfumed honey bags,
buzz low to kiss choice blossoms
drooped beneath dewdrops downward drag.
I worship, cloistered dawning,
held still in God's supreme hand;
linger, soft laughing moments,
giving grace for day's demands.

Wind Chimes
The earth moaned
under the heat. On the porch
wicks drowned in melted
citronella candles
under limp wind chimes.
Withered vegetation drooped.

Finally –
a grey morning mist
gently
moistened cracked soil. The parched land
lifted
its head,
listened
as the wind chimes began to dance.
The thunderclap
announced the resurrection;
the downpour
was redemption.

Clue of Age

I sat, in the garden; took in its surrounds !
View, the wizened crooked wooden fence;
drooped with a crick, a downward glance !
The back of my hands, a reflection of time,
Brittle skinned, blue veined unsteady;
An exhaled breath, of Oh ! a map of
lines, a journey of time passed,was mine;
Turned palms up, no Gypsy teller could see,
my journey, its broken fence, and satsified;
I made no whispered, reaction, or defence.

The Baby of the Earth
As by revelation, moon unfolds
A sleeping angel mellows out
In a crevasse, naked
Dropping the apparel of foliage:
Hair drooped round his sinless face,
Engrossed there the toil of seafaring
Swarm of limpid sweat drops
Moving like dancers
As if after a ballet in summer storm
The crafty water flails
With deep foam
The baby of the earth
Destined for distant shores.

Unknown Sadness
Heather wore a saddening frown.
Her head drooped down.
Her eyes were red and puffy.
Her nose was stuffy.

She wept with a pout.
She would yell and shout.
Heather gave a groan
And was to sit alone.

Everyone was glad,
But Heather was sad.
No one knows why,
She’d wail and cry.

She whimpered until,
She had no will
To cry anymore.
 She went in the door.

Heather’s heart was like
A broken glass.
With a great mass,
To push off her shoulders....

Wet Dream
Night is sleeping
Charmed by the door
The shadow drooped in the day
In the flowering bed
The window of the jungle is crossing
It's a rhythmic song I've heard somewhere
In the memory of the first day
The rainstorm is looking for a fog in the dark
Sleeping in sleep
The dream came true
At the end of the trunk
I went to another lake
I will go on a day that I do not see yet
There I am singing melodious cymbals in the flowering flask
What are we waiting for?...

Timorous & Amorous
She was timorous,

and I was amorous,

she was this and more,

and I was dead sure,

I do not know how I got fixated,

because I have seldom done,

she was perhaps that breed,

so rare,

that you do really care,

all was fine,

and I had begun to pine,

then all went in dump,

my shoulders slumped,

eyes drooped,

and nostrils scooped,

that the trader,

quoted such fare,

for that high bred mare,

that I fled,

away bill and tare....

Premium Member Crested and Kissed
The snap of canvas sets taught ropes groaning. And She skims the waves, wooden planks moaning. A spray of salt brine wets my lips and tongue. Nature's elixir; the sea keeps me young. Foamy, frothy peaks are crested and kissed. And indigo waves morph into a mist. Chasing brisk breezes, She leans to one side. And I'm elated, near bursting with pride. But exaltation dies with the next swell. For emptied of wind, Her sails drooped; and fell.
