Take a Breath

draw in many breaths

pure crisp cotton snowy air

jagged peaks beckon

snare young and old to challenge

death defying runs of ice

Acorns

Soon fall will start
Tall Oaks blow in chill winds
Dropping acorns
Food for woodland folk
As nights draw in
A long catnap awaits

Distance

I see my beloved when I close my eyes
Sleep can draw in even the most distant being

Touch from miles away

Light and intense
Quiet and powerful

Waking up exhausted
Missing him more

Know Your Lines

Your love is scored with lines:
The thin one of a bitter smile,
Loosening after while,
The legal ones you sign in ink,
Those ‘round the tub and in the sink,
The battle-lines you draw in bed;
Lastly, lines said in your head.

Sweet Child of Mine

Sweet child of mine
Where is your mother?
Your guardian of love?

Because it is cold out here
And the night sky has begun to draw in

Later in life
So too you will understand
That beyond this umbrella

Another world does exist
Where is your mother?

The Yearning...

Lusciously liquid
your gaze lights on me,
warming my skin where
eyes longingly trace
contours of a smile.

Tantalizing
your scent coaxes
me to draw in
essence of you.

Your smile pulls
On my heart-
Connections.

Your words
Make me

Crave.

This Moment

This moment
like dank cellar air
is motionless
except to pass the senses
as saturated air
rolls over skin
as lungs draw in odour
rich in permanence
the soundscape is silenced
save
the pulsing from within

this moment is forever
forever
motionless

July, and Us

Popsicle-stained shirts
Romance soon to fade
Draw in the dirt, sip
iced tea in the shade.
Summer leaves its' mark.

Kiss me so slow
Under this sun
Promise it's not
Just fleeting fun

We hid here
In this blue
umbrella.

Autumn
kills this

time.

Zen mode

all knowing God-mind
heart loving and kind
ours for the asking
whilst in bliss basking

there’s a catch of course
love employs no force
to ignite form prism
draw in magnetism

poised in witness mode
with heart our abode
we reclaim soul’s light
and bliss beat’s delight

Don'T Fall

Run run
I hear steps gaining
Asphalt and gravel rips my bare blackened soles
The air burns like bourbon
 I draw in deeper
No pain
No feeling
Fear is my anesthetic
Just run
If I fall I wonder
What will mark me
A Bent beer can
An infected syringe
Maybey a card board box
Run don't fall

As the Nights

As the nights draw in as some fear SAD,

flying leaves of green, yellow, red, brown

of country or town, clothe some with joy,

others with melancholy, every Autumn and

                                               every Fall.

Stark Reality

As nights draw in, the silver harvest moon
Shines boldly through defenceless, naked trees
And pirouetting leaves will settle soon,
For winter’s riding on the autumn breeze.

The Story Of Your Life

The story of your life

Is just the same as mine

We may be born in different dates

Different strokes we draw in line

Different hues and colors we paint

Persons of strange worlds mates

Personas not molded as saint

But blooms and ends in a story

on the same road of life's fates.

To Feel Expansive In Appreciation of a Night Garden

I thrill to yellow platters of iris against Spring black blue skies,
I am moonstruck by their essence and reflection in Nature's eyes.
For their secret night cooling breeze.
I long to draw in their perfumy breath and blow it from me
Emeralding around their friends’ night symphonies.
And send it to you with my love.

Only Stop

Only Stop
Edward Clay
November 2016

Stop!
Stand a moment.
Breathe deep and draw in calm.
Look,
With eyes and heart open.
See the beauty around.
The autom leaf
or the sparkle of a flowing brook.
The pattern in a piece of stone
Or the shapes of clouds.
Feel it inside you
as beauty is everywhere.
One only has to look.

The Medicinal Harvest

Shortening daylight
As summer turns fall
To harvest for winter
Gathering all
That is needed in darkness
As nights draw in
Preserving the summer
And the magic within.
Picking the jewels
Leaf, flower and berry
Mint and hawthorn
Hip and Rosemary.
Natures secrets
Medicine within
I start my harvest
Let the healing begin.

Seasons Said

Spring has come
Sour Cherry blooms
Lady blackbirds dance
Attracting her future groom

Summer arrives
On the leap of Spring
Bringing rays of life
To all living things

Autumn's reached
As the nights draw in
The scent of Harvest
Harvesters bling

Winter welcomes
Coal fires glow
As her months grow cold
Bringing festive snow

The Scent of Oneness

Cloudy night, an orphaned star
spinning into wayward heart.

They drift as one upon a stream
glowing light- aurora dreams.

When time pounds the kettle drum
they draw in tight, becoming one.

The morning sun, chimes "all is well".
Night ogres retreat back into hell.

Sharing soul and sweetened seeds
two silver swirls on sapphire seas.

My Reeking Rectum

Sniff my reeking rectum,
Smell it with your nose,
Inhale its lethal fumes,
It smells like a blooming rose,
Place your nostrils against my reeking rectum,
And indulge its rank, stuffy scent,
Put your nose right up my anus,
And delight until you’re spent,
Don’t be shy now,
Please don’t choose to delay,
Quickly sniff my rancid, stinking, reeking rectum,
And draw in its pungent bouquet.

Riddle

Take this gift
More perfect than a full moon.
It is softer than silk,
The tresses of unblemished ksin.
Its fragrence heavies the night air,
Making those around it dizzy
As they breath deeply to draw in the scent.
And its color is of a deep bloodred,
Smoothly cut rubies of elegance.

Answer to the riddle:
4 letters: the 18th letter of the alphabet, the 15th, the 19th, and the 5th

A Land of No Return

At the mention of death
everyone freezes
And so draw in their last breath
Lay very still in your coffin
with faces looming
don't worry; its common
high over their heads you are,
they're chanting something,
I'm not headed to a car.
This roads kinda bumpy
you open your mouth
my voice sounds raspy,
I'm being dragged like a doll
they're lowering me
ahh, I've finally reached my goal...

Softened Attention

Our pristine doerless intent to connect
self with Self in the void of emptiness,
animates attention to so detect
subtle bliss currents, in vibrant stillness,
melding presence in the sea of oneness.
As we draw in the divine elixir,
our in-form nodes dance in joyful caper,
flowing blissfully without resistance;
soft and easy becomes our souls gesture,
reflecting innate, bubbling innocence.
