Big Wide World
unleashed
I may waiver
satin spoils
are new to me
yield,
your monotone salute
suckling praised
a freedom from fur
the hunt is mine

Devoutly Pray
Devoutly Pray
Many things I must do and then also may;
Devoutly pray to God each and every day;
Carefully will listen to,
Until over and through;
Be sure to hear each word He does say.

Ashes to Ashes
A devoutly religious man once said to me, "Everything you touch turns to dust when it should be turning into gold!" Afterwards I thought to myself, "Has he really forgotten that it is written, 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust'?" So now I'm left wondering: was he criticizing me or God?...

Consistently Inconsistent
I’m hesitantly ecstatic,
And devoutly Republicratic,
A conservative eclectic,
And a pragmatic romantic.
I scoff at reality,
I’m a collection of coined morality,
I’m a gracious curmudgeon,
And everyone’s conundrum,
Does this make me gregariously timid?
Or just consistently inconstant?...

Deeds With Rejoicing Heart
Actively live for God, rejoicing*
Blissfully seek His heart
Cheerfully give to His work
Delightfully commune with His Spirit
Enthusiastically worship in His temple
Fervently pray midst trials
Gladly serve Him devoutly
Happily fellowship with brethren
Intently follow His leadership
Jubilantly stay in His love!
*Philippians 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord...

Walk With the Light
Devoutly walk in grace with the Lord,
Thy will never witness fall of darkness.
Fulfillment of love lull a rich reward
Devoutly walk in grace with the Lord,
Let us not become latent with blindness
but bath in the light and let us harness
Devoutly walk in grace with the Lord,
Thy will never witness fall of darkness.

Eye of the Storm Is Still
as part of internal detoxification
hidden fears and desires manifest
on the surface these contractions
seems to be at our egos behest
however if we look at these urgings
they are bubbles rising to the surface
where they burst noiselessly transmuting
into colourations of love by divine grace
it is at times like these we must hold steady
our resolve to maintain our spiritual focus
attention poised and heart devoutly ready
maintains track on the divine love locus
