By Angeline Vine
In the midst of someone's middle age
it was discovered that one a day
could help
Except it really depended on what
one accepted as 'middle age'

Jobless in the city looking for
work. Depended on to pay bills.
The economy is bad,
but I have to stay strong.
I have a wife and
kids to support.
God please help
me get
by.

There were no guys quite like Ben and Jerry
She depended on them for her dairy
She liked it with nuts
No ifs, ands or buts
And she often found room for a cherry

Depended On and Relied
On you we often depended on and relied;
Listen to suggestions that were supplied;
You I did see,
Instead of me;
Would always feel so much better inside.

If the fate of the world depended on you
Have you any idea what new thing you'd do
Make love a top priority?
Treat everyone morally?
Not a bad start, lotsa luck seeing it through

Today a blessing from St Augustine regarding life
and one suggestion of a way to we see it through…
Pray as though everything depended on God…
and
Work as though everything depended upon you.

You are a stone cold
Habitual
Pathological
Liar
You can not tell the truth
About anything
Even If your very life depended on it
This is what
Addiction has done to you
This is what has become of you

On Trump Depended and Were Rear-Ended
We never would know what Trump intended,
And upon he was to difficult to be depended;
He had hearing;
Out were clearing;
Had caused complications when rear-ended.

Limerick
We urchins did survive
The cesspool of our streets.
Our joy at being alive
Depended on such treats
As husbandry can do.
In sounds of songs unsung
We learned this as we grew--
Flowers grow from dung
And ancient songs renew.

He didn’t recall events,
But remembered my name
Dementia clouded reality
Nothing ever the same
But, still, we did all together
He depended on me…and,
I depended on him;
Strange how that was in the end

A pregnant woman boards the bus
Do we always make way
Or do we turn away
She depended on our kindness!
When did we go astray
What does your conscience say

Egotists
can be depended upon to say I, myself, mine, and me.
Let me talk with those like me who say you, yourself, us, and we
altruists.

Always depended on the wind to carry me where i needed to go,
never expected one day that it would not blow,
a tumbleweed without a home
needs a breeze to help move it along
'coz if it sits still to long,
a fire is ignited by the scorching sun,
and where there once was one,
now there is none

My Doctors give their best
During my life and death hour,
But was unable to explain
Why my life hadn't ended.
Some recognized, and said,
It's due to a higher power,
After doing all they could
On prayer/God it depended.

Clairvoyant you are kidding right?
Telepathic? Sure. Snort. Snicker.
She could strike him dead
But would it be kind?
Their continued friendship
Depended on her not showing
Any other sides of herself.
She was careful not to shape shift
While he was in the room
Wasn't it bad enough she had
accidentally turned him into a frog?

God sometimes sends an unknown pass
to lend His divine touch
a hand from heaven sent
with bold assurance in their reach
that knows your needs so much
rest gentle's in their palm.

Our soldiers line up to be remembered
As the best of the best at their job.
They wish to be needed and depended on
To save all we love from the mob.
They risk their life and limb for liberty
Standing firm against evil unwilling to break.
To be part of something greater than themselves
They are willing to sacrifice whatever it will take.

Bonds are breaking cold
Upon the heart is all wealth
Nothing left but self
Secure in our fear
Violence has no heart left
Progress stumbles here
None depend again
Has love depended before
I have only me
The school of want gone
What can I learn without love
But hunger again
Guns without ears laugh
Machines without heart embraced
Victims of progress

An elderly concubine looks
at the black silky lace*
in the crimson casket
with a smile of understanding.
The royal gift of grace
from the new young sultan.
* The Lace Of The Sultan. Whoever got it had to commit suicide by strangling himself with it.

My life once depended on a friendly turn of fate
I hung my lonely lover, with a noose named heavens gate
Your life is menial to me, my friend, my ugly truth
swinging face down from the sunshine
into the darkness I consume
so I send a swarm of blackness
laced with strobes of soundless plea
please know your time is dated
until the day I set you free.

I do not know?
The morning brought a sickness
The little one cried in pain
Taking her to a doctor
Was easily said than done
As the day progressed into noon
Troubles poured in twos
How the whole day passed
Couldn’t recall in this swoon
The run to the hospital
And trouble from every nook
Seemed like life was not worth
Living nor could be left behind
For so many lives depended
On me to see they ran smoothly

KINDNESS OF STRANGERS - KIB
Rainbow-yarn hospitality
Opened to me their door.
Snowy boots laid aside,
Warm blanket and fresh apple pie.
Servants of God, rapport,
Under his snow-dove wing.

Just suppose,
you juxtapose
date and time…
early riser,
back home
before
you’re supposed
to go. A riot,
that it seems
my brain
pauses, supposes
it knows
everything,
but the calendar gleans
the truth,
the text reveals
I’m all
mixed up.
Most of the time,
I get it right,
but,
once in a while,
my brain
misfires,
however,
I’ll not fire
the old gal -
I’ve depended
on her
all
these years!
