Together Though Apart

He didn’t recall events,
But remembered my name
Dementia clouded reality
Nothing ever the same

But, still, we did all together
He depended on me…and,
I depended on him;
Strange how that was in the end

This must have been a time with sadness. I like how you find a blessing in the middle of the frustrations of dementia, how you still had mutual dependence even though this was unexpected. J
