Blemished Love
her piggie died my
love denied
she cried I
cried
alone by her
side
honesty
decried
never should've
lied
perhaps death has
died

PURE UNSPOILED POETRY
The bullets
will be there tomorrow
the endless sorrow
inescapable regret
that will linger, fade
reappear in the future
pure unspoiled poetry
twas an illusion
until the hipster decried
the archaic language

Beyond the Flames
You can burn a book,
but never burn its truth
The flames sear the meaning,
tattooed at the root
Dousing this sacrilege,
my felony went untried
Escaping with the Muse in tow
—a fugitive decried
(Dreamsleep: January, 2022)...

Amid the Jagged Shadows
Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs,
I found myself decried in a mindless state.
Joy has become a dark meaning of pretending to be happy.
Look over there, my heart's bleeding in sparks caused by an unending agonizing torment.

Lunar Surprise
You can’t embrace
the moment forever
whose verity
at essence ungrained
By definition
it must rename itself
once mentioned
decried and disclaimed
What came upon you
to die in place
where vacuums exit
in time and space
Regenerating
from life’s cocoon
and starting over

My Two Sons
My flesh and blood
refused to follow me
refused the notion of the flood
fought for right, not for me
Duty served
country proud
Now we two sons confess
we have transitioned to the dress
Father hid all the witnesses
to the truth of his two creations
from the watchtower he decried
the beauty, compassion and love
all he derides...

Betsy Ross Lied
To the Redcoats Betsy Ross lied.
“It is not a flag!” she decried.
“I'm due at a wedding
and all of this threading
will be a new gown for the bride!”
“But it isn't just one little dress,”
with nose growing she had to confess,
“A collection I've planned--
t'will sell big in the land--
at my discount stores, Ross Dress for Less”!...

Get a life
So God asked me smugly, “How did you
find the life I fashioned one for you?”
“Not very colorful, Sire,” I decried.
“My wife was homely and dull
My kids, mediocre and drab
I slogged, I struggled feeling ever gray.
An uneventful life. Unconditionally normal.
Methinks, you did a gross injustice by me.”
“Oh, shut the … whining,” God boomed.
“Just go back and get a life!”

Darkness Through the Glass
Is there something unwanted
or even decried
that lives in the bottom
of all you’ve despised
to weep when you’re happy
the prefect of tears
confusing the moment
defying the years
its magic conscripting
new days into night
trapping what’s in you
embracing the fright
one saving question
the clock striking twelve
destiny tolling
—your answer indwells
(Dreamsleep: January, 2022)...

Scapular Burning
What are we but relics
of time gone by
Where painful encounters
stay undenied
The wounds may scar over
but never heal
As memory is martyred
its blood congealed
New skin tries to cover
what sutures can’t hide
Each moment recovered
a falsehood decried
With strength built on pillars
of fortunes disdain
From deep in the shadows
—our essence remains
(Dreamsleep: January, 2023)...

Ma, Pet Assassin
Chubs is gravely flat.
We remove our hats.
Her wheel deflated him—
Chubs, my cuddly cat.
Flounder is lying flat,
ambling on his back.
Her croutons choked him—
Flounder, my friendly catfish.
Gopher is resting back-flat,
striking position for naps.
Her diabolical chocolate gateau
snuffed him out almost.
Gopher rose once again,
my mangy mutt, back-to-life.
Ma decried; she'd die
in a reindeer stampede...

Leaf Rights
Did you ever thank the leaf
for all the beauty they bequeath.
You grumble, putting them aside
while in your own heart, lies deride!
Oh natures wonder ~ still have pride
then put assunder heaps of chide
so given, now in glory hide
the leaf as blunder, thee as stride!
So humble dunder, thus denied
must love the leaves, once green, now dried,
to scoop in flounder from reside
leaf rights a bummer, so decried!...

Where Freedom Finds the Fire
Fiery Spirit
Epic tales heard from birds in golden bars
Spreading feathers they zoom up in their envisioned flight
Animals in captivity is decried aloud
Their glued movements kill their roaring might
Potted plants are sweet and dainty
In bedded grounds they sway to fancy's delight
Rules and trite strictures murder us in strife
Freedom from bondage fires us to titanic height

The tenth door
Liken the fontanel as the tenth door,
which soon after birth, slowly becomes closed,
whence blinded from truth, we feel not our core,
immersed in hypnotic trance self-imposed,
floundering about through life indisposed.
Freedom’s enabled when we pierce the crown,
which occurs when our turbid thoughts calm down
and heart purified, ego is decried,
that love entwined, in stream of bliss we drown,
in the vast void glide, amazed and wide eyed....

Suicide of Books
For long bookcase-bound,
Some books committed suicide.
‘Few readers were found’,
The suicide note had decried,
Sobered, the rest of books cried.
The shock of the news
Caused many in library
Feel a stiffened noose,
Some of them on poetry
Thought of mass hara-kiri!

Free verse
graduating from room 101
i once stood
within my own shipwreck
blaming cruel seas
years past
flotsam and jetsam
built a driftwood home
when storms came
that ramshackle shelter
self-destructed
while i
cursed foul weather
looking outward
never seeking inward
i decried a faithless fate
unt
a blinding truth
ransacked
an unseeing mind
simply that
I ALONE
am the author
of my own life-long
melodrama
none other than me
bore this responsibility
of such a tangled
tragicomedy
