And our days, once past, can’t be erased.
While some attain wisdom derived from age,
Others see years elapse while being debased.
Though earthly days be enumerated as sand,
Each day allotted was through God’s grace.
He holds microscopic moments in his hand,
And affords us choice of an afterlife place;

I’ve heard it said lately and then repeated,
COVID-19 gave political snakes hope.
Of adding their wants to a list first tweeted,
whining as if hung with a new cotton rope.
This brings to mind a political snake saying,
“never let a serious crisis go to waste.”
A dangerous game politicians are playing,
mission statement reads, leave the other debased.

Ashamed to avow my sins,
A burden mine alone to bear,
Broken beyond repair,
Baptized in gold to fill the cracks,
Restless nights, Velour gowns turning to sacks
No amount of gold brings relief,
Debased by lies and deceit,
Beg for forgiveness,
And you shall be forgiven,
He, who knows all, saw underneath my veneer,
A pain, a woe played for deaf ears,
I beseech my lord to forgive my misdeeds abhorred,

Some men’s legacy will be one that’s disgraced,
They live life, morally bankrupt, and debased.
While others seemingly live a life that’s blessed,
Because of transgressions that were addressed.
At the cross Jesus paid the price for man’s sin,
We’re judged by the condition our soul is in.
Either we accept His payment or later we’ll pay,
They’ll be no second chances on judgment day.
