Still the Snake Dies At His Feet
he caught them in the garden
a prince and a princess
dabbling in incest
from which weakness breathes
with no other chose
he turned them to the land...

My Passions
Crafting a poetic line gives me as much pleasure as crafting a pleasing smile.

WORDSLINGERS

Wordslingers dabbling in alphabet soup
cohorts assembled Limericks as a troupe
instead of their blades
they’ve taken up spades
to challenge the reigning “Queen of the Poop”

Blow the Winds Slowly- Dabbling In Poetry Form Contest
Wind
Gentle
Touching me
Whispering low
Caressing my soul
Pulling at my heart strings
Blowing kisses on my skin
Arousing hot feelings of lust
Wanton now, my body awaits you
Blow the winds slowly, blow my mind away.

Borderline

I’m only borderline
Dabbling in
Mental instability
A fan at first
Opening a portal
Eventually possessed
In my own way
To create
And create and create
But on the border
Is only mediocre

Pragmatic
The tug of ellipses
measures our weight
in the vivid gyroscope
clustered by gases
noble cloaked in
the curtain

to benefit from the
necessary intrusion
of thought coercion
until no fool or genius
questions the majesty
around us

or the ineligibility
of humans to pass
themselves off as
dabbling masters of
gods behind dangled
talisman logic....

Listen to poem:
He dabbles in this, dips his toes in that
Dithering with daubs, splattering dollops and spatters
Dilly-dallying, loitering lazily lackadaisical
Unable or unwilling to commit.
Half-hearted efforts lie half-baked, unfinished
Laying listless, languidly lolling and littering.
It's so annoying to see time wasted and fortuity fraught
But what can anyone watching do?...

Sense of Touch - Contest
A riot of colors blinds me in their wonder
fall decks the park with dazzling yellows and cool greens
lush crimsons thriving in sun's embrace
pale lilacs are young lovers impassioned in rapture.
Sun's warmth cuddles babies in their strollers
I stroll enchanted, though lost around winding trails
I wish I could be an artist dabbling in my easel
inventing new tints, coloring myself purple.

Midgeted paws gently experiment
with the silken whiskers of their maternal dynamo

Dabbling with the conscious but succumbing
softly to the confetti of uninhibited dreams

Rejoicing in a triangle of togetherness
Basking in the periwinkles of space and time

Under a backdrop of light and optimism
Enjoying the nuances of peace and temperance

Their unified thoughts epitomize one harmony
Each sending a message, don't ever leave me....

Summer Loves
Lazing in a hammock swing,
dreaming of what summers bring.

Romping in the swimming hole;
pleasant moments I have stole.

Dabbling in a happy brook;
fish and frogs in every nook.

Watching rabbits on the lawn,
happ'ly playing in the dawn.

Romping in the swimming hole;
pleasant moments I have stole.

Flowers wafting in the breeze,
while their pollen makes me sneeze.

Hatchlings in a lofty nest;
parents out on their food quest....

Dengue Lawn
Modern landscaping amuses me no end
in mansions and cottages round the bend.

To folks who seem aesthetically cultured,
a well-mown lawn is still ill-manicured,

unless there are potteries strewn around,
cracked, skewed, partly sunken in the ground.

But pots breed bad skitters that fill your artery
with dengue through this silly pseudo-artistry.

So, next time you stare at your yard be wary:
Mosquitoes sting anyone dabbling in pottery....

She sits idly on the edges, waiting
Slowly, slyly, swallows the scene
Tinges each facet of its meaning
Scented by a distant aura.

For her darkness bathes all in its light
its soothing, sensuous smile
whispers, giggling on its breeze
the moon winking overhead.

She paints with fog and streetlamp
twirling through our dreams
dabbling with our hopes
this beauty that is night.
