Rainy Day
Rain pounds the pavement,
steady downpour that washes
the homeless away.

Mists cloud the upper
stories of downtown buildings,
skyscrapers lopped.

Pools gather near curbs,
waiting for their chances to
splash pedestrians....

I'M a Tree
I’m a tree
That stands tall
Focus on every curb
Of my body
 My curbs tells
The story of
My ups and downs
My successes and
All my failures that
Helps my branches
To grow and to stretch out
I’m that tree

The Feelers and the Curb
There once was a car with feelers
Feeling all the curbs
This sound of scratching
Would get on your nerves

Now cars have lost their feelers
Giving it up to computer nerds
They can park by themselves
With no worries about hitting the curb...

Skateboard
I am a goofy foot skate rider
Who loves to challenge my track fighter
We flip and roll our skates
Into the urban lanes,
On the ramps, curbs, rails and streets
Beaming fun, as we darkslide,
Jump, flip and fly
Just to turn clockwise, to
Make it home on time !...

Treachery
Treachery ~ that mind-set's gift
is doing nothing, through the rift,
my grace be courage e'er be swift
to ford the clamor, not adrift!

In science wonder or faith's calm
surreal assunder, naught of psalm
though seeing rightly, not alarmed
and Godliness, through prayer, curbs harm!...

Time walks away
Curbs time to play

Curious cheer laughs
More than enough

Mad crazy strides
A last joyride

Ooze of strong booze
Grooms sleepy snooze

Dreams of lost lust
From dust to dust

Urge of deep soul
A falling told

Stupor now dumps
A groggy lump

Premium Member While Driving At Night
rabbits leap across
loneliest graveled dirt roads
barely missing tires
~
possum shuffle past
the white lines along the curbs
hopes fill their belly
~
raccoon dart out from
beneath laurels and pine trees
hustling toward hills
~
bear lumber along
awaiting hibernation
along forest trails
~
deer travel quiet
sighing soft in the headlights
through misty night fog...

Premium Member Why Then
Play
Choice stays
Day by day
On the way

Poise
Knows choice
In clear voice
That curbs noise

Know
Sad show
As grief grows
How touch flows

Frame
Bold name
Just the same
In brisk game

Dare
Purge glare
In odd stare
That booms fare

When
Meets stand
Round odd bend
To work then

Be
Then see
How charm frees
Nude decree

Hundred Proverbs Advertize Herbs
To the public the man shows herbs
For Advert hundreds of proverbs
"Your worries and mine wisdom curbs!"
Lots of Adjectives and Adverbs;
On roads blares, neither dumb on kerbs
Voice screaming hoarse near touring Serbs...

But the Old Seller of New Herbs
Settles for nothing short of blurbs,
The problems of voice pitched high curbs
And down brings number of proverbs...

"Buyers I see less for sung herbs"...

The Day After Christmas
‘Twas the day after Christmas
And boxes were piled
With the remnants of gifts
Ripped apart by each child.

The dolls and accessories,
Sports gear and games,
All once wrapped up in paper
That nobody claims.

The presents from grown-ups,
Removed from their bags,
Join in with the packages,
Ribbons and tags.

In the compactor rooms
And outside, by the curbs,
Are what’s left of the bounty
In cities and ‘burbs.

Just good old' kids,
Never meaning any harm,
Been in trouble since they were born.

Straightening' the corners,
Flattening' the curbs and crushing pebbles.
Someday the hills might get them, but the law never will.

Making their way,
The only way they can,
Which is a little more than the law allows.

Just good old kids,
Couldn't change if they wanted to,
Fighting' the system like a modern Day Bonney and Clyde...

The Ambulance
Its siren is annoying;
Its flashing light disturbs.
Its speed propels pedestrians
To back up to the curbs.

It zigs and zags on city streets
Ignoring lights turned red,
Determined to respond, no matter
What might lie ahead.

A heart attack or vertigo,
An accident or fall;
A suicide or murder –
The attendant’s seen it all.

To passersby, its presence
Is forgotten in a minute
Except, perhaps to thank their stars
They’re not the patient in it....

Feeling Disenchanted
I'm bored and there's relief from it
that's just the way I feel
my eyes are addle I admit
a plight I won't conceal

Listlessness is visible
this is the reason why
this town's a mirrored tinsel
with a platinum color dye

You're jaded and mishandled
and your insights all but bleak
your voice is clearly stifled
I tune it out each time you speak

Maybe I need to leave the suburbs
with lawns of fake green hues
oblivious to rounded curbs
I dream of urban views...

The River
Everyday runs to freedom
Unceasingly escapes mountains traps
Fires rainbows over the waterfalls
Grows up powerful gathering orphaned streams
Rushes in and breaks the wild rocks
It is in mountains but wants the plain.

Everyday runs to freedom
When goes down its voice is tired out
The flat space curbs his leap
Its water soiled from towns’ garbage
It is in plain now but longing for the mountains.

Everyday runs to freedom
When reaches the sea
It loses the name....

Early Earth thaw
First gasp of breath
Heaves its snow chest
Like a blanket pulled back

Arches its cadaverous humps
A surfacing serpent
Along the street curbs

Slithers to the drains
Snakes away through the pipes
Spills over the dams

Swims in the rivers
Toils to seas
Butterflies as rain

Tombstone wave
Ten thousand miles away
Taps the cedar of a clipper ship

Once a snowflake
In this winter land

Marking a grave
In a frozen drift
Outside my kitchen window....
