Sorrow's Room

Dim its room; as if the light
Day's benign, too cruelly burned.
Drowsy kept; as if that heard
Polite whirred, painful turned.

' a Snake In the Grass ... ' 19th Senryu

‘ A Snake In The Grass … ’ 19th Senryu

    A Snake In Tall Grass
Strikes, Bites and Cruelly Laughs …
‘ Did It Hurt’ It Asp
Form: Senryu

Rain

Drops falling.
The tears of gods
Forgotten or forsaken
Tapping at windows
Begging for repentance
Those
Cruelly recalcitrant
To their design.
Form: Imagism

Right Place But the Wrong Time

Sometime spiders make bad bets
when they trap files into their nets
And as they seize the victim’s wing
there’re cruelly killed by hornet’s sting.
Form: ABC

Yellow American Spirit

The smoke tasted similar to
tea-kettle steam, mixed with
the least cozy of rustic
woodland incenses, forming
a cruelly mellow and inconsequential
flavor, bland to mind, body, and spirit.

The Disturbed Quiet

Drenching down in dark,
quietness would sadly hark,
the pleasure of turmoil,
to befall and cruelly spoil
the peace and calm,
singing a cursed psalm,
ceasing smiles to sway,
taking the radiance away.

Beautiful In Every Way You Are

Beautiful in every way you are
Though the you is presently her
And the aforementioned me
Has not been mentioned of late,
Though understandably so
Oh, how the waves change so
Quickly, Casually, Cruelly
Form:

Slowly

Time passes by slowly
so slowly it drives me mad
so slowly it chains my body
like nothing ever had
I count the days
They just seem to crawl
so cruelly they smash me
with cold blood they kill my soul
and I die
Slowly

earth turned bald.
skyscrapers loom bold.
waste hideously piled.
toxins profusely spilled.
nature cruelly defiled.
we stand greatly appalled!

Death, the Howling Wind

Death, the howling, moaning wind
The dying can't ignore--
It scratches at the window pane
And slaps the shudder door.

Then cruelly taps upon the roof
With incessant, mocking strain--
And stops, but only for a breath,
Then begins to howl again.
Form: Concrete

I Dare Not Dream

I dare not sleep and dream again;
For I cannot bear the cost--
Reminding me, and cruelly so
Of what I had, then lost.

How blessed I would dreamless be,
That I might long forget--
To sleep bereft of reverie,
And absent all regret!

Premium Member Was That Me

When I look back
  I don’t recognize myself

Was that me
  bad-mouthing my parents

Was I that mean
Did I say that – to my sisters

Criticizing friends so cruelly
   always speaking foolishly

Who put that tongue in my mouth
   Was that me

The Real You

Maybe it is not fair,
that I have been
clinging to an idea of you—

because maybe
the real you—tempered between
my fits of desires and invention—
carries less music,
walks a busier street,
is too mundane—too prosaic
to haunt me the way
my dreams cruelly
reimagine you.

Chirp On

lodged in an ugly crack on the burnt wall

of a cruelly battered brick building

in a war-wounded city,

is a fragile nest of feather tufts and twigs

rebuilt again and again by one

                now joyfully chirping !

My Missing Half

When you fell, I pick you from the ground,
When you needed me I was always around,
When you were upset, I would dry your tears,
Through dark nights I’d fight away your fears,
I was with you through all of those years,
And now I’m in this world all alone,
To life’s curb I’ve been cruelly thrown.

But Softly the Myriad Snow Flakes Fall

But softly the myriad snow flakes fall
These infinite flakes of purest white
Like pure white down of angels wings
Floating gently from heavens height

But this is no heaven sent delight
This thing of beauty that cruelly lingers
For harshly touched is the naked earth
When touched by winters icy fingers
Form:

45 Rpm

45 rpm tossed aside
spinning again no more,
old, unwanted turntable
cruelly cast out of a door;

in the attic kept away
gathering dust silently,
not unlike a transient life
to the end pointing surely;

music fading, we following,
fleeting like a crazy dream,
meaningless and forgotten,
no better than a 45 rpm.

Premium Member Tiny Tiny Survivor

Born to early
Left with a permanent reminder
Difficult arrival into this world
Such a tiny tiny survivor!

You’re life has its battles
Though you never complain
Even when life is cruelly unfair
Treating you “not the same”

Tiny tiny survivor
You fought so hard to stay
The sweetest miracle
Perfect in every way!

Strip-Show

Ah my dear girl, how you show hidden treasure
In awesome and innocent ways
Small actions spark cold, thrilling pleasure
I pant at your power displays

Legs crossed to perfection, so cruelly they mock!
Lithe hands tug the cuff of blue jeans
Toes pointed slightly, you peel off your sock
Revealing your bare naked dream

Dark Ritual

Around, all around,
the dark memories gather.
My dread grows
as the headsman's axe
falls against my neck.
It severs me,
and darkly my blood drips
to the cold,
uncaring tombstones.
In unholy terror
I flail madly
while the Reaper
laughs cruelly.
Now alone, my blood falls
upon uncaring eyes

This is your love.

Life Chirps On Joyfully

in a war-wounded city,
in an ugly crack on the
      burnt wall of a cruelly

         battered brick building,
            is a lovely, fragile nest
               rebuilt again and again

                  and again by one now
                     joyfully chirping at the
                        smiling, new morning!

Freedom Costs

Past decade decayed in a mist of crimson
Last barricade barraged to escape this prison
The Shades of grey flow through my faulty prism
Light betrays - plain sight - guards march me back to my chasm
Cleaning crew - white suits - red spatter
Leaning cruelly towards me - empty eyes - soulless laughter
No body
Chains hold me
Cold so coldly

Mystic Love

Love speaks of hazy lochs,
stealing dreams
languishing your smile.

Mistaken silhouette vanishes,
dissolves into dusky cloak.
Apparitional insanity attractive,
everything consumed – soulful -
a heavenly trance.

Our gentle embrace ignites as we touch
and amber flame cruelly bakes us,
as hint of monster disappears, un traced

Before the Storm

as predicted
there's a storm
is coming
empty street
It's day but it's like night
heavy rain
one drop two drops
gently and cruelly
start to fall
thunder
getting closer from afar
roadside trees sway
A cat with nowhere to go
outside my desk
meow meow Meow.......
overnighting,
The storm has passed
even sharper
On me, not it.

Father's Memorial day

The world has indeed been forgetting me
Forgetting me cruelly
As waste that neither grow nor breathe

It is a fermentation of anger and despair
As Despairing as it struggles with anger
At the unknowns in dark

Gleefully silence compares with the sunshine
The sunshine does have evils
Telling that today I cannot forget about
