Slipped on something
A new habit
Bad for my health
Ate away at my soul
Cramped my mind with thoughts

Was

What Am I
I devour children as if they were appetizers
Every time I stop I let out a big yawn
I also stretch my arms because it gets a little cramped
I dress flashy
At the end of the day I look trashy...

Along the Way
Somewhere along the way
I got lost in yesterday
In a room where music played
the same where we once stayed

Our touch demure. . . forbidden
two lives cramped and hidden
so many feel this way
so lost in yesterday...

Just Do It
Just do it.
Whipping lash,
hot, cramped pit.

Odor, stenches
still working.
Cash coins wrenched.

Wealthy, rich
sitting back
pulling stitches.

Dollars drop.
No more wages,
still won't stop.

Sit, knot, knit,
broken wrists,
just do it....

Elba Blues
That unshared secret…
a crawlspace of denial
where shadows keep your heart at bay,
lonely all the while

To hide in darkened corners,
as falsehood lends its smile
your mind left cramped—all virtue tramped,
banished and exiled

(Dreamsleep: September, 2020)...

They have lived
in a succession of apartments
through the years,
one bigger than the last.

And the bigger their home,
the more cramped it feels.

She's nostalgic for the first apartment.

Tiny it was, but big
for two people
who were glued together
all the time anyway....

Pieces
your fingers cramped
and you ease your grip
just for a second
but it all starts to slip
dripping from your hand
so many grains of sand

as it falls around your boots
pieces of what was true
retrospect spread on the floor
fantasy you reached into
nothing like you planned
too many grains of sand...

Premium Member With a Constant Draft
She's in quite deep with out a doubt, a very cramped space to pull her out. She slipped into a loneliness well, a cold sad place for one to dwell. There were times when she was reaching out but no one heard her pained shout. She couldn't recall days of glory, stayed focused in her sad life story. It's oh so dark with a constant draft, deep inside her mind's shaft....

Burden
Burden

How many people
ruined by love?
Regret weighing heavy
on cramped minds
Dealing with the mundane
in an almost dream-like state
The heart withdraws into itself
A trembling cocoon of sadness
over missed opportunities
A feedback loop convincing that
the future won’t be any better
Grasping at some unreachable principle
to try to lessen the burden
The burden of being alone...

Premium Member Urning the Rite To Make Sense of It All
Urnestly, I search for words
buried beneath the veneer.
The rite way to ashes and grief.
Contained in a purple jar,
her only tear— a hoarder's memory.

Death makes no sense, the
bed relied upon— a cramped space
in the dark, not at all
what I was expecting.

No marker with flowers.
Her jar’s become a place of “cheers.”
Dad’s tears plink into his afterglow martini.

Chrysalis
Despair shrugs off its dirty shell
emerging as Enlightenment,
cramped and crumpled she crawls
off in dazed bewilderment,

as remnants of vile guilt and rage
plot her demise, (shameless vestige!)
and residues of spiteful hate
conspire to take her hostage.

Sitting in her brand new skin
alone Enlightenment is like to die,
till Love, Confidence and Joy conjoin
to bolster her into a Butterfly!...

ENGLAND,
My England
Rainsoaked fields,pastel green,
perennial impressions
of country scenes.
Shire counties cramped
and compact,neither temperate,
changeable and in exact.
Seasons merging into one,
winters' mild,summers
of sometime sun.
Ancient,historic and
quaintly modern,
pub-grub,village greens
and cricket squares sodden.

Premium Member Crowd Control
I have two pet snakes that I keep in a cage - I've owned them since I was a very young age. The elder is Wills and the younger is Harry; they're perfectly harmless, but look rather scary. One day as I stood in a sizable crowd, some guy bumped my snakes and his laugh was quite loud. So I let one loose in that cramped elevator, the folks all dashed out and said, "Bye! See you later!"

Tiny Spaces
Small humble home that I was raised
inside these walls I spent most of my days

Legroom was sparse in our tiny address
things always cluttered and sometimes a mess

We lacked riches, money was tight
sometimes we’d laugh, and sometimes we’d fight

People would ask how we lived in this way
now looking back I would not trade a day

Although we were cramped, had no room to spare
our hearts were gigantic with love to share...
