are seagulls 
floating
on a teal harbor
blond moorings
cast like kelp
Sails stiff 
as egrets
glide slowly
toward 
a cerulean channel
Atop turtle islands
pastel cottages
are pearls gleaming
on oyster beaches
umbrellas splayed
like starfish
on sandstone terraces
schools
of rainbow blossoms
wafting
in the salty air

Modern landscaping amuses me no end
in mansions and cottages round the bend.

To folks who seem aesthetically cultured,
a well-mown lawn is still ill-manicured,

unless there are potteries strewn around,
cracked, skewed, partly sunken in the ground.

But pots breed bad skitters that fill your artery
with dengue through this silly pseudo-artistry.

So, next time you stare at your yard be wary:
Mosquitoes sting anyone dabbling in pottery....

mysterious was the man

Moons upon moons rose and set
he took the land and built cottages
natives looked on but he was growing
expensive things flocked his stores

Horses multiplied and then disappeared
rolling baskets came from nowhere
and metallic birds made noise often
and mysterious man became bird-rider

and natives looked on without action...
