Whose
we've a crazy
bull frog in our
pond for when

you come upon
our pond to take
a peek or a look

see he doesn't
startedly leep

he
ever
so slowly
sinks like an
alligator in his pond...

Busy Beaver
If I should come upon a beaver,
I would be inclined to leave her,
There, busily working on her dam.
Because I've seen her cut a tree,
And if I make her mad at me,
I might wind up much shorter than I am....

A Rabbit's Habit
If you should come upon a rabbit,
And you think you'd like to grab it,
Then, you'd better move with utmost care, because,
If the rabbit finds you frightening,
It will take off, quick as lightning,
And you'll find there's nothing, where the rabbit was....

The Stage of Life
hopefulness lessons
desire decreases
lack of willingness rises
creating a scene of great
indifference to come upon the
screen of the mind's eye

No longer loving

may heaven come upon us
there is only animosity
to forever decay
to forever loathe
to forever drift

maybe one day...
Love again will come our way

Bringing My Shadow Home
Sometimes, when sitting alone,
I feel your lightness come upon me

Watching my shadow run
toward the brightness of your smile

And like a child,
lost again for the first time

I am carried away in your moment,
—as you bring my shadow home

Fields of Death
In flanders fields,
The fields of woe,
The moon shine down,
Upon our foe.

The wars at end,
A truce we've come upon,
The light goes dim,
And the morn will dawn.

In fanders fields
When poppies die
The grave of dead
Soon will lie

More fall to death
The dead has grown
In flanders fields
The fields alone...

Premium Member Walk softly Ode to my walking stick
Loyal companion carved from a sturdy oak.
This eternal gratitude will never be revoked.
You've been there for me more then
some human folk.
I think I may be in love with you and that is no joke.
Please stay by my side until the day I croak,
if perchance we come upon a very nasty bloke,
I will turn you upside down and give him a poke!...

Empty Rooms

Aloneness may become an immense - empty room,
from which loneliness can come upon us – much to soon
on the heels of to much - involved aloneness !

This I have come to know, intimately – I must confess,
to touching the fringes of, from time to time,
as can be seen, coming out in my attempts at good rhyme.

The Last Thing
Have I come upon my worst fear
When you would be gone, and I would be here
Have I lost this fight I was trying so hard to win
If I had to go back, would I even let this begin
I say, I say, October twenty-ninth
A number that revolves around my life
A day, I cannot forget, it went so slow
I held on to you, and whispered in your ear, don't let go...

Strawberry Bandits
The furry band of thieves crawl in the night,
wielding Zorro masks and sly grins,
soundless in single file,
under fences and through prickly bushes,
the little ones straggling in back,
they come upon their spoils,
ripe and red for the taking,
juices flow down their chins,
a light has flooded the crime,
their last bites taken,
fleeing satisfied...

Retribution
Rising from the shallow graves
Illuminated by moon’s glow
Spirits awaken to misbehave
To get revenge from long ago

She was sent to an early death
Deprived of opportunity
Translucent yet not lacking breath
From death she has impunity

Her ghostly tale will be passed on
In whispers carried in the breeze
Whomever she may come upon
Will be transformed by what they see...

Waterfall
There’s nothing like a waterfall
To make you stop and stare
And give yourself some credit
For the fact that you are there.

To come upon one naturally
Would be a great surprise,
But mostly, people seek out
What’s been seen by prior eyes.

Still, to watch the water gushing
As it tumbles down its course
Is to realize those who miss it
Should be flooded with remorse....

One Existent Reality
In seeking to find inner peace.
The chains of pain that won't release.
Seeking freedom with certainty,
In One existent reality.

The quest continues in the night,
Searching the corners for the light.
I come upon Him with surety,
In One existent reality.

Though struggles always ensue.
The One I've found is surely true.
Life is now filled with eternity,
In One existent reality....

Spiritualist Dance
Knowing death will come
Does not assuage its pain,
Knowing life is done
Does not erase the same.

Certain gaps remain
Defined by breathless air,
Whiffs of the cremain
Lingering, longing there.

Come upon by chance
"A goose stepped on my grave,"
Did its holy dance
Unseen but by the brave.

Knowing in advance
Does not negate the grave,
Spirit has its prance
The life it after craves....

Premium Member Through the Mist
Effulgence of the moon cannot break through
the mist of creeping gloom which has erased
the brilliance of the stars, the midnight’s blue
and oaks like strokes against the hills which graced
our panoramic view. A sickly dew
has come upon our world and left its taste.
The cold seeps in while some sleep unaware
that Goddess Moon hangs pouting in despair.

A-Ha
Sky - blue
I remember you
And warm, abundant sunshine
Grass - green
You haven't been seen
In such a very long time

The scent in the air
More soothing than any
Aromatherapy
The birds singing
More melodious and varied
Than any symphony

What is this feeling
That has come upon me?
It seems familiar, and then
I smile, and whistle
In reply to a robin
"Yes - it seems I am happy again"...
