Just when we thought
wars were well and truly over,
done and dusted -
Russia invades Ukraine.
No mettle for friends
to take up arms.
to don the coat of arms
and fight tooth and nail
to quell the invader.
Instead its alms that are offered
and sanctions to starve and demean
the invader's will to fight.
It's a new World Order 
at arm's length....

If you dare not to stop me for a Kiss,
A single one that I wouldn’t trade
For every artwork once made,
I will steal your charming fleur-de-lis 
To stitch on my coat of arms,
saving me from earthly charms.

How truthful it is if you have to steal,
Easily changing when a new face
chases my eyes with her grace, 
Kiss me willing now for our new deal:
To kiss me ever when I demand 
as I will also obey your command....

Slowly she spirals through the solitude of signals, 
That are visible to no one else.

Watching, and wearing her last coat of arms, she waits
For the wasted ways of youth to fail her. 
Wasting precious moments preparing possibilities of a potent
past called to a loss. This was it.

Future fires false hope towards the sky, and she gazes, grey.
Fighting for freedom that was not hers, but her hearts.
