Atlanta Rain
Retreat for cover
Atlanta showers the streets
Humid air now chokes
by Martin Braun
July 29, 2023
The whore train rubs its warm thumping body against the rails
The heat rises and the chimney wails
A smell of melting chokes its throat
It's hard;
living in a
world where
your voice
is so desperate
to be heard.
But when there's
a chance, the
ocean chokes
it up.
Old age has the edge over youth
It's not the other way around
Old age gets youth in a headlock
Then, with wisdom, slowly chokes it out.
death’s the ultimate earth life test
a reality check that chokes
what we hold onto fate does wrest
whence we see this dream life’s a hoax
Is it a presence of black rays or the absence of light
Either ways, its the same plight
The time when time chokes tight
And only fear seems bright
I
Cannot
Breathe my
Throat is
Blocked it
Bears a
Chain that
Chokes and
Locks my
Lungs are
Flat my
Eyes are
Wide I
Cannot
Breathe I
Cannot
Die

Blue Whale's mouth is huge
it eats tiny bite-size krill
that chokes keen Sardines

morning
glories wrap
beautiful flowers
climbs, squeezes, chokes their stalk, limbs
so like some humans who climb, squeeze, choke until
Stan was one of those insensitive blokes,
who gorged on Jerusalem artichokes,
when gas formed in his gut,
he thanked God for a butt...
now the entire USA gags and chokes.
Hate,
Looks like poison Ivy that is slowly killing a tree,
Smells like death,
Sounds like a victory cry when your enemy is dead,
Chokes your soul so that no good feelings can grow.
Anxiety chokes thought
Hearing murmurs of a chair
In a shadowed room
Some glimmers of secrecy
Hankers in this lonely end?
For Rick Praise's contest:” Chair in a shadowed room
My Persian LICKS with abandon
A cat with a mission in hand'en
When suddenly he chokes
HAIRBALLS stuck in his throat
And upchucks over me where I'm standin'!

sex and love are two different things
Life is a circle
That seems to never end
Every day a struggle
We must fight through again and again
Try we might
To find peace within
But darkness chokes the light
In the circle with no end

Tear
into me,
mold with your scratches;
Carve away all the excess;
Sculpt,
reshape the left over bits;
Take heed with matches;
My crux chokes
air.

She's "cute as a button" is a well known expression
Could even make modelling a successful profession
She'd sure have my vote
She chokes up my throat
Wearing a bikini, might cause a transgression
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
When Donny croaks (when Donny croaks)
He gasps and chokes (when Donny croaks)
The doctor pokes (when Donny croaks)
And sez "That's it, folks" (Oh happy day).
I look at you and I feel intense love.
A love so indefinite that it chokes me from within.
You are mine, I made you.
Finally, something good came from me.
I never understood what love really was, until I had you.
Swirling mist
Chokes us all,
Whether or not you’re
Gasping for breath.
Thickening fog
Blinds us all,
Even if your
Vision is perfect.
Pounding rain
Brings back the pain,
Especially the one
You never knew you had.

words can put you off the stroke,
constant yapping they invoke,
loss off concentration, chokes,
romance just aint a rapping,
dingoes dongers flappin...
round the slippery slidin slopes...

In that tautly made hole
they rehearse on an icy sheet
and deer graze on the roof.
With boned limbs on a trunk
a pink witch pops into view:
chokes in giggles.
After which they desired to eat
the old creep’s snatch,
in the corner her laid out leg.
A masterful foe
This ego of ours
It clothes itself
In arrogant guise
We know not
From where it came
But it chokes our lives
With its pompous game
With cruel intention
It hardens and binds
While we cower behind
Our fickle minds...
