What a well of Good Ideas
This Poet found; I sipped a swallow,
And so I choked on all I wrote-
For it was empty, dry and hollow
my bird flew away wind confessed
my beard grew awhite time consoled
my breast cried aloud milked
my breath dried alone choked
Form:
Like the hiding Sun
spiraling within the clouds
love left unspoken
a silent smile choked her lips
raging like a thunderstorm.
Gravel
I saw her
I wanted her
I seduced her
Afterwards,
the lust in my heart
turned to gravel
I choked on it

Piercing 'Garden Mark'
Orange’s scent of perfection
Choked my keen nostrils.
For Carol Brown's contest: Apples or Oranges'
There once was an old man from York
Who choked on a large chunk of pork
He croaked for his wife
Who ended his life
By digging it out with a fork
Wearing shades of dye,
he smiled sweetly in daylight,
his hot sighs choked in the throat.
At night, secreting pain,
lay on bed, a chameleon.
I was challenged to dance off
From a boss with a very bad cough
Danced, spinning around
And then he almost drowned
As he choked, from the almost face-off
I once knew a pirate named Pete
There's nothing that he wouldn't eat
He once swallowed a whale
But then choked on the tail
And now he himself is dead meat
The shock of the news left him numb.
He asked, "How did my friend succumb?"
The coroner joked,
"Your friend Artie choked,
He's the victim of his chewing gum."
That Slick Limerick writ by Bob Quigly,
'Insane in Maine,' got me so giggly
I twisted up my tongue;
so, I swallowed and wrung
and choked on my long stick of Wrigley.
There was a young man we'll call Mac,
who loved to suck on a tic tac.
But one choked him today.
What a price he did pay
and he'll never, ever be back.
A world breathes beneath us
That we choose not to see
Flooded with darkness
Infested with insanity
The sun sets in a bleeding horizon
Choked and beaten by the full moon rising
Choked, escaping existence
Tighten,
Beating heart skips
Burns that stretch
Painful
Hurtful
Dying bliss
Gathered like a lasso
I can’t breathe anymore
Tighten…
Breathless…
Frederick frog had lost his croak
No croak was severe for a froggy bloke
He tried very hard every day
But Frederick's croak stayed away
Because Frederick had a frog in his throat.
There once was a frog from Quebec
Who was treated with such disrespect
A gull took him for lunch
But he dished the first punch
And choked the bird by the neck
My tribute to toast, a treat that's the most
Russell loves it, but doesn't want to boast
Invented it, he told me
But a smirk I could see
Methinks Russell choked when he spoke
I met a young Jew
it's sad to say
Who wasn't taught
Why or how to pray
I choked back a tear
as I lit festive candles dear
'Gaze into the flames, son
Their warmth brings God near'
To be honest, I'm a sweet loving soul
Haven't lied to you since being granted parole
For beating an old lady
She was about eighty
Falsies fell out, and she choked on a hairball>center>
Knew a young fellow named Frank
Pretty girls always turned Frank's crank
One day his crank broke
Choked up as he spoke
Sputtered, “still got stuff in my tank”!!!

Seagulls saunter the shoreline, nipping at scraps of dead fish
Hunters and gatherers will soon have more than a bellyful
Gils choked by the black tar and oiled wings await Gulf sea life
deep within we know its true,
under the water bloody blue,
the Atlantic choked with mud,
down she went with an awful thud,
what Plato said was true...
Atlantis is true blue...

tears spurted out like arterial blood
tantalising cobwebs on the roof of flood
tearing hearts fed on love delivered
tangentially proverbs choked

Form:
Feet propped up, reclining on the sofa inside the den,
watching a hot movie showing a wild and sexy scene,
in his excitement he swallowed his can of Diet Coke
and with his mouth full of pretzel he almost choked.
Sometimes
when words
just won't flow
it's because
I'm all choked up
with tears
