scurrying on leaf
woolly bear caterpillar ~
winter harbinger
Date written: 10/03/2021
Many a caterpillar try
Yet few become a butterfly
And those that soar
Feed even more
Who don't know why, but live to die
Would you like to be a butterfly
with wings and fancy stuff?
Would you like a metamorphosis?
Make sure you eat enough!
Caterpillar
Plump, green
Eating, weaving, sleeping
Inside of the cocoon
Shedding, growing, changing
Graceful beauty
Butterfly
Form:
Sweet caterpillar
Sitting on a leaf with joy
for soon it will fly
FOR CATERPILLAR'S GATE CONTEST
WON 6TH PLACE CONGRATS TO ME
Dreaming of a butterfly
Experiencing flight
Flying from flower to flower
Greeting the hot sun
Wishing I was a caterpillar still
caterpillar days
of deliciousness led to
chrysalis musings
when lovely rhymed lines emerged -
fluttering wings of romance
This caterpillar
Fell out the tree
Fell out the tree
Fell out the tree
This caterpillar
Fell out the tree
Now he can’t see
Brake out
From your cocoon
The moon
Must shed
Her skin
From this
Fat green caterpillar
To this smooth
Brown maple-leaf
Butterfly
green caterpillar
pupates....
yellow swallowtail
gardener's inner joy
non-traditional
A tiny trail of
Fresh symmetrical
Water droplets,
Clinging to
This branch
What clever
Caterpillar is this
That glowing string of pearls
A simple green life
Thank goodness I don't wear shoes
Soon I'll be air-borne
Sorry, not a traditional haiku,
but I couldnt resist
a caterpillar

fly away, be f r e e...
Tantalizing wind
Meadow ripples, full of life
Caterpillar morph
Bird of prey, predator's eye.
Silent glide across pasture.
Oh dear, I just realized what I could do,
with the Hungry Caterpillar plushy,
enveloped by paper, for my cute new
nephew. He’ll learn to spell his name by three.
She wears peace signs
But screws like bombs erupting
Hips rocking like caterpillar tracks
Rolling over boulders
‘It’s a war in there, baby
And I wanna fight’
Wind
Blowing
Butterflies
From their cocoon
Sail in the sky with wings wide open wide
Body of colored beauty once was a
Caterpillar
Unmoved by
Blowing
Wind

Fat, Fuzzy
Crawling, Climbing, Chewing
Chrysalis, Sleep, Transformation, Rebirth
Burgeoning, Bursting, Becoming
Beautiful, Majestic

Henry, an extraordinary excavator
Would arrive there sooner rather than later.
Using his big cat,
When shown where it was at,
He would dig you an enormous crater.
Constantly changing looks,
Cottony clumps spur a
Child’s creativity.
Could that be a giant
Caterpillar that now
Crawls across the sky? A
Camel it’s turned into!
knowledge is a function of mind
wisdom however grows in the heart
slowly, being a beauteous blossoming
magic in motion, a transmutation
the caterpillar now a butterfly
His words tell her she's not enough,
his love shows her, she likes it rough ~
his touch couldn't come too soon,
she is a caterpillar, in his cocoon
Born as caterpillar
Bound in a chrysalis
Brave and patient, I am
Blessed by Holy Spirit
Bursting forth, emerging
Brief though is my life span
Bring tidings of God’s love
The thunder makes way for
the lightning
As does the caterpillar make way
For the Butterfly
So too do I make way for
The changes of
Christ in me
