Doubt
If you’d lend me
Your soul
For just one day,
Could you live
Without any feelings?

Vignette-The Drama Queen
Now a favourite,at the top
On first night,a major flop
For its time,a plot too hot-
An early death was Bizet's lot

When You Turn Into Slumber
I like covering myself
With your forms,
Invading you with
All that fervor…
And from all this love
I don’t want to move,
Fast asleep on your
Quiet chest.

My Life With Carmen Electra
I erased everything: thousand
traces of my fantasy
thousand futures of your grief
thousand scenarios of hope
thousand spaces of our destiny
but a remembrance remains
into blue background of memory...

Indifference
I will not want
To see you again,
From my thoughts
I shall suppress
You forever.
And even if you
Would pass through me
Again
I will be gone while
You’re intruding.

Too many good thoughts
so many bad poems
The bridge to forever
exacting its toll
Too many to count

It's on a day like this,
when I really miss your smile;
Time passed, we've moved on,
Oh look... it's been a while!
Always in my thoughts,
forever in my heart,
Well for now, dear Carmen...
guess it's "Happy Birthday in the afterlife!"....

Character and plenty of it
A Strong woman, short in stature
Raising four kids basically on her own
Manic at times, but loved us all
Even now that we are grown,
Never to part, Mom is always our heart...

Winter
Winter is almost upon us as the
Icy wintry mix begins to fall
November in so bleak and dark
Trees left bare and mostly stark
Evergreens the only cover
Realizing warmer days are now over

Shooing Carmens Suiters Away
Carmen has never tried to be pretty
Her six brothers warned her to stay plain.
But as she grew, she could not help herself.
Now they are scaring suiters away on a regular basis.
I got Jose, you get Pedro.
Done!
I shooed Thomas, you shoo Jesus.
You are asking me to shoo Jesus?...

This is all that’s left of you (or me)…
It was real (or not).
You loved (but not just) me.
I was (or not) missing you.
I trusted (but not only) you.
We were together (or not).
You broke me (or so you know).
This is all that’s left of me (or you)…

Multi Tasking
can you summarize
proust's remembrance
of things past in less
then a minute and a half
while juggling an egg
a chainsaw and a
bowling ball
standing on one leg
whistling parts of bizet's
habanera from carmen
or if you can't do that
at least while driving
use
your
turn signal...

I do not know?
Something
There’s something following
Me…
I try to hide it, but
It’s always there.
Around the edges,
Around the corner of
My eye.
It’s this evanescent
Gloom
That pins me
To my fright…
Fright of never forgetting
Your memory,
Caged in the back of my head.
But I hope
It’s only temporary…

My Thirst For You
Now, that you’re far, and still I sense you close,
I try to resemble you with all my surroundings:
I gather you from sky and sunlight,
From flowers, muck and water,
From incantations and bad luck I try to fix you
And reshape you whole.
Outline your every sentiment,
Contour the heart that once loved me.

Last
The tongue slips
over the grayish-blue
edge
of a Catalonian knife.
Salt.
Tambours bang.
Me or him.
The dark dance starts.
A step
… a jump.
The night –
an award for death.
A red dress –
survival.
Curse eternal –
Carmen.
Corrida – ever.
The knife stabs in the back
and the crowd cries
'More!'.
Breath, breath – the edge
squeals…
*‘Ultimo! (Spanish)...

Divine Path
My soul in filled with paths,
Haunted, it is, by light
That causes me desolation,
My soul is a celestial bird…
I’m now blue from
Sky and ocean
And smell like garden
All around…
My kiss is now on the edge
Of dusk,
My soul is a child in prayer…
I’m this morning
Of poem and sunlight…
I’m this divine path for
You, my love, to walk on…

A Ceaseless, Eternal Grief
We bereaved-
Loved our child since she was conceived.
Doctors declare she was diseased.
We sneezed and she was seized.
It’s hard to breathe; I don’t know if I can proceed.
They say I need to grieve.
It’s just too hard to believe.
Cancer is a thief.
I have only one thing- a guarantee that she received peace.
Forever will l squeeze, that her pain was eased.
Carmen is free, indeed....

Fire Heart
I’ll burn down the steps that lead
To me, and never walk
On them again.
I’d prefer your absence
Than the brutal lies
You utter.
I’ll mouth my will and blaze
It too,
My emasculate word
I’ll bring to ashes
And feed it to the wind.
I’ll tattoo the fire
In my eyes,
And in my veins,
To light the torch within me.
I’ll burn it all,
Until the burn will have deceased.

Crystal Dreams
Fervent sandstorms of daylight
breathe their last on hot topanga
distant shores rumble with breeze
splashing colours of blooming dusk.
Oh my blue crystal dreams so delicate
dance on sumptuous serene waves
silver stars on the glass in carmen
sprinkle in slithering hush to sleep.
