Her husband died before her on his hospital bed.
"Oh my God no!" were the last words that she said.
She suffered a cardiac arrest and soon she too was dead.
This true story tore my soul apart.
She didn't die of a heart attack. She died of a broken heart....

The Grim Reaper, Chained Lived: by Tom Wright 1/1/2017 Written: 7/11/2018 Death had its eyes upon me, My time of life was cast. God heard prayer warrior’s plea, And my death angel passed. Five days I can’t recall, And five songs I won’t forget. Heavens choir (simultaneously) sang them all, Sudden Cardiac Arrest had me beset.

Step down from your
ego. The brain dead has-
left a lesson.

Left a lesson, the brain dead.
Will you measure the
EF before the cardiac arrest ?

Sexing an issue
of dented verbs, why
do you need a defence ?

The numbers are climbing.
You have entered-
a high risk zone,

of killing yourself.
Give me a ghost writer, I
need an art, not a duplicate.

My Witness Miracle Man 7-20-2022 Five days in a coma, little chance of survival, death had laid its claim, my body lay askew. My life then depending upon Jesus’ arrival, and to other hearts He would make his debut. The Doctors began calling me Miracle Man, today I’m mindful of the message I preach. The widow maker was just part of God’s plan, Sudden Cardiac Arrest became my outreach.

Be “blessed not stressed” yeah, that is the test,

Just a little bit o rest, that is my quest,

But the zest of the fest got me hard pressed,

There’s a pest in my breast, cardiac arrest,

My chest heavy like Mae West,

I confess, I’m distressed and a little depressed,

But I divest my unrest, priorities reassessed,

I request a glassful of the best, kindred spirits coalesced,

The fest repossessed with jest and all the best

Peace....

Wrong Expiration Date Written: by “The Protected One” 7/10/2018 I’ve modified or eliminated habits of late, Sudden Cardiac Arrest was not endearing. As I stood at the threshold of Heaven’s gate, I heard a choir singing and angels cheering. Then God breathed life into a broken man, And now I’m surviving on borrowed time. Seventy nine years has been my life’s span, At expiration date death’s bell will chime.

My New Normal Written: by Miracle Man August 2, 2021 For the past four years I’ve struggled in dealing, with my “new normal” since sudden cardiac arrest. Life is now drab, and most days I’ve no feeling, but I have felt God’s touch and to this I’ll attest. God had a purpose for my miracle performing, yet often I struggle to ascertain why. I’m left with a life that’s quite nonconforming, I can do very little although I still try.

One Nail Unpainted
She figures she will do it after she answers the phone
She waves her fingers in the air
hoping to dry them off
one nail is unpainted
she drops the phone
coughs once
collapses
the mortician wonders why one nail is unpainted
she figures the woman was painting her nails
when cardiac arrest took her life
she left one nail unpainted
the girl's mother painted the last nail,
her ring finger,
a deep blood-red
so that at her funeral,
everyone knew what did it....

Parachute Jump
If you are turning 90
And your life is in a slump,
Just grab a parachute, like Bush,
And have yourself a jump.

The elder Bush no longer walks
But all he needs to start
Is a sturdy chute, a plane, a pilot
And a lot of heart.

His first jump was in World War II,
His last at 85
And here he is at 90, shouting,
“Hey world! I’m alive!”

Though I never liked his politics,
This jump’s got me impressed;
Still, I’ll bet his doctor, watching,
Suffers cardiac arrest!...

January 1st 2017 By: Miracle Man 10-21-2018 It was January 1st and God had my day planned, This day, at my door, the Grim Reaper would stand. For I was in the throes of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, And only eight percent survive this harrowing test. God averted my death by the dread “Widow Maker,” Now, to oblige my Doctors I’m a daily note taker. What I’m now allowed to eat I wolf down unflavored, But despite all this, I feel blessed and most favored.

A Second Chance By: “Miracle Man” 9/8/2018 I Survived Death by Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Now, there’s no moment when I don’t feel blessed. I realize that I’m living on un-promised time, * And nearing eighty, face a promised, uphill climb. God alone discerns what my future time produces, I’ll fight to the end, for God accepts no excuses. For alibis are Satan’s traits hatched up for losers, And he is the king of the fast talking schmoozer’s. *Psalms 90:10

ANXIETY

My heart beats like thunder… I try
To stop the wonder in my mind
But the pictures replay
As if in rewind

Sweaty and unsteady are my hands… I try
Calming my emotion - thinking of the ocean
I’m drowned by the sound
Of the whiplash in my past

Its heavy and strangling me… I try
But I can’t breathe
The pain is lingering in my chest
Like I’m in cardiac arrest

I want to cry… I try
But the tears won’t fall
They’re held back - entrapped
By this ANXIETY ATTACK!

Lay...
