Failing Upwards
Back in the day
he used to do any job for good pay.
That was before the abortion clinic.
Then he knew
there was some s..t he would not do.
He got picky,
though getting himself fired was his
most masterly skill.
Occasionally
he would make a little shady money,
however any work was cleaner
then bundling up dead baby parts....

Puppy Dreams
He curled up
snug and safe in his bed
 eyes blink then closed, dosing
as he tucked his little head,

At first a sigh
and then a softer deep snore

Waking
I find sheer joy to wake with you
And feel the ebb of our night’s sleep,
With flesh secure beneath warm sheet
While morning light seeps faintly in,
The dawn obscured by falling snow,
All worldly sound subdued by storm
Though your soft breathing, still relaxed,
Resounds and falls clear in my ear;
I stave off thought of chilly floor
And bundling up,
Hot coffee’s jolt,
Snow shoveling,
Then clearing cars—
No, I prefer to spend this day
Just waking … waking with you....
