Too Tired

Rheumy eyes
spoke
heavy thoughts
of
sorrows multiplied

darkened heart
curtains drawn
hope expired inside

heavy grief
buckled knees
soul forgotten
silently
died

Broken Wheel

My life and how I feel
Can be aliken to a bicycle wheel
Buckled punctured
Deflated and crushed
Discarded to a garbage dump
Unwanted useless forgotten
Beginning to rust.

The Great Marvel

I find myself

So marveled

At the layout of it all,

By that I mean,

Existence,

That the personified

Ambition

Sits next me, buckled.

But definitely not driving.

Has ideas, that said.

Blue - Dodoitsu Contest

big blue eyes pierced my soul
took away all resistance
knees buckled at his touch
I belonged to him

blonde hair, blue eyes, dimpled smile
are enough to melt one's heart
one touch was all it took
babies first cuddle.

In My Throw

.

Is anyone really watching
as I commute on my way
            to Philly

             As Poe
            with pen
   like the tornado wind
         I pull you in

    I capture your pose
          I imagine...

     all of you buckled
             in my
             throw

All For the Love of Money

on the
witness stand
my knees buckled
my throat
was dry
as, i soften
my tongue
listening and
showing
sweet mercy
towards the
young *****
slave
who was
brutally
whip beaten
thus, accused of
murdering
a prejudice and
abusive
white plantation
owner
all for the
love of
money

True Grit

He
like a drink
      did granpa
      Shreeve
Sergeant stripes
still on his
       sleeve-
Victorian born
        buckled belt
        boots,trousers
braced
strong
           silent,twirled
           of moustache
           rigid
upright
no ceremony-
            faded
            sepia grey
            in
memory

Buckled Bills Boasting

daedal delight dangling
saucy skirmish smoldering
dainty dark drooling
nauseating punctured puking
of salient smirk
la-de-da limbs lurched

buckled bills boasting
lanky lust lustrating
felon feast fondling

eyes etched'n fear
hoisted hankerings' shear
taunted thrill tears

punctured parley pulses
wielded wild whooshing.

The Ambulance

Buckled up, blue lights, let’s go
We’re taking you to the best place
Get you the special help you need
You’re going to be ok
Just hold on
You’re doing so well
Keep fighting
You can do this
You’re so strong
Not long to go now
Everything is going to be ok
We’re nearly there baby girl
Mummy is right here
I’m so proud of you
You made it
Well done
You’re going to be ok now
We’re here

'round the Corner

As the new year rounds the corner
We're confronted with the fact
That it might be filled with many things
The current year has lacked.

There will be more joy or sorrow
(Circumstances will decide)
But whichever way it falls, we're all
Seat-buckled for the ride.

We've no choice now but to face it,
Though with welcome or with dread,
And the coming months will show us
Where exactly we've been led.

chair dared not react

Eager enchanted chair wore a ghost cover of white
Stay right there! Ordered the witch named Might.
The chair sat in its place, and the goblin chuckled.
Might swirled her wand, and the goblin buckled.

Black cat laughed, and was turned into a frog.
With one flick of the wand, he landed upside down on a log.
This delighted the chair that used to be a ghost.
But he dared not react, for he was scared of his host.

Love Train

When our hearts connect with someone even if it is for just a short while,
that impression on our heart is there for eternity.
It is usually our human conditioning that buckles our love and sometimes throws us off track.
So for all our buckled tracks and derailed loves of past we should give thanks for the moments we have shared.
To all of you that have stayed straight and true, us derailed love trains bow to you!

Heading Home

I'm a teenager in a convent boarder's uniform, wool coat buckled tight.
Brother a college student in town, both heading home for the weekend. Holding tight to his waist, leaving all stuffiness behind as we speed off on his motorbike.

green fields fly by us

we will take the back roads home

             rebels with a cause

Bitter Blues

I often struggle to make peace
with nagging relapses that,
like endless tides, come
then I need to chase away.

Intrusive rekindlings of loss,
of wanting to resurrect the past,
each time needing to go through the motions
of convincing myself it's pointless.

Confined, trapped, buckled in,
I ride this live rollercoaster
that leaves me feeling disillusioned,
frustration having a bitter rancid taste.

'kindred Flights'

tear stains like tire marks, or finger prints can leave their mark buckle up or buckled under you still have a choice in life fleeting moments distant smiles can warm a heart can start a halted love the moments in between can take us to the depths of love unseen kindred flights on baseless journeys never gave you an end point it only helped with the in between before you reached your destiny

Virtue In Essence

Mint in the eyes, metal in mood
buckled in sunshine, burning in brood
You represent all in life that is good
I long to be in your presence.
Sipping your whispers, earful and shine
standing like I still believe you are mine
Sappy and spindly in limbs while I pine
I miss your touch with a vengeance.
Wind in my mouth, catching my breath
pulling me forward until I accept
we are a mist from our birth to our death

We are the virtue in essence.

This Autumn

A strange autumn this, with its tight closed fists, its lynched, hollow fruitfulness. Ashen drapes shroud listless maples, a sky reluctant to color its face. We are knuckled inwards. A pestilence has worn out the pith of those who survive. We enter this wintry furnace refined, steeled, and buckled with a somber endurance and we will come through just as autumn does, renewing the earth with its fiber and sorrows.

Raven Boy

He exits the egg sable and glossy.
Eyes clear, wide, bottomless.
Puckered skin shrouds spiked limbs.
Years of tears soak the tattered yolk sac.

The mask is fastened, buckled,
buttoned and stitched.
There is safety behind the leather.
Smile through beak and feather.

Wings span above street and house.
Talon and tool sharpen and flex.
The soft ones sleep inside, locked and warm.
But he has ways.
And he can problem solve.
With the best of them.

We

If

If I choose not to see their atrocities
does it make me complicit
If I turn my head, close my eyes
Am I innocent or part of it
And if I stand to shake and shiver
No damned use to life and cause
My mouth dry my knees buckled
Mumbling, not I, not I, it's the law
If I cannot kill, you kill me anyway
And others follow on that line
We with nothing left or done
We, the silent, and the dying
We
Train of humanity
Cowed and careful
Cold and
Dreadful
We

What Have You Done

An ice cube chin and sturdy feet,
Until you pierced my atmosphere.
The arrow’s twang made my heart heat.
What have you done?
This hard knock girl now filled with fear. I’m miffed with Cupid’s charming-cheat. These buckled knees — when you said “c’mere.” Your armor buffed — a smooth athlete. Thrust your confident smile - oh dear! Diamonds sparkle on the street —
What have you done?

Days of Shadow and Sea

it's easy to remember
you in these pictures;
light's language of shadow
sculpting time
and
you are there
like a shell pounding out the sea,
laying back on the beach,
head sideways, your eyes closed,
knees buckled in the air
open to the Sun's
fingers of light reaching,
glistening there

I've not been the Sun
in your darkened places
since
the day you offered yourself
to the sky,
 the day
I succumbed to the seas
endless waves
          washing over me

Fire-

Fire he screamed…
From the lookout tower
Sloshing buckets arrived in the angst of men

Fire he wailed…
From his ghastly nightmares
In came his friends with those comforting words

Fire he jested…
In the crowded celebration chamber
Psychiatrists came running with pencils and pads

Fire he directed…
As a flat and distant playwright
Columnists praised on the papers front page

Fire he cried…
All buckled in a straightjacket
And no one cared to pay attention

A Call For Humility

I don't think about Tr*** often
I don't like to

My guess is a third of you
are at this time
ticked
triggered
troubled
torn
turned off
or
tickled

Avery few feel that
tripled in spades

And the rest have buckled up
in a mingled mess of
confusion
curiosity
or careless concern

Take your pick

Only the most humble
learn their lessons anyway,
and earn a table
at the hearts of the yearning

We're all hurting

If only we could learn to listen

Granpa Shreeve

I'll always remember Granpa Shreeve
at Eaton Road,where he+Gran dwelt,
a wide thick trouser buckled belt
no collar,braces+rolled-up shirt sleeve

He kept hens at the bottom of his patch
his soldier's back now bent to stoop,
collecting eggs from his home-coop,
each day letting them out to root+scratch

Organically grown,fed as range free
a pullet killed as a Christmas treat
each day a fresh egg for dinner or tea

Old-fashioned,a bit of a tartar,
far-off days..Gran was his domestic martyr
