My Choice Nostagia 1

TRUE GRIT
He
liked a drink
      did granpa
      Shreeve
Sergeant stripes
still on his
       sleeve-
Victorian born
        buckled belt
        boots,trousers
braced
strong
           silent,twirled
           of moustache
           rigid
upright
no ceremony-
            faded
            sepia grey
            in
memory
