Chow Down
Many vegetarians think
Brutish carnivores need a shrink
But pigs and cows show
That just is not so
Herbivores can't smell their own stink!...

shining desolate
a hungry grand lion snorts

Premium Member Ancient Egypt's Glory
The Nile was serene
    its riverbank green
  Cleopatra the Queen
    supervised poverty obscene

  Ancient Egypt's glory?
    'twas short, brutish and mean
  for builders of pyramids
    worn out at eighteen...

Should mortification
be justification
for your fortification

  Then you need
  a long vacation

'Judgment, thou art fled to brutish beasts...'
    Marc Antony's 'Funeral Oration' in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar"...

Premium Member Electric Fly
                I soar
     with brutish strength,
      I fall for a whirlwind;
What I want is a sweet escape
              with you;
Dancing along a lightning bolt
        electric tingles fly
          charging a fire
                 in me....

Appreciation
Treacherous man, brutish and mad
Your words sear my skin, prod me, tear me still
I pacify you
As if you were the child, not I
You hate seeing me cry
Though we still find ourselves
Whining in the kitchen over
"Mother's constant witchin' "
And my languor which you've only begun to realize is
Due to nothing more
Than a lack of Appreciation...

Premium Member bison stepped on my foot today
Brutish bison stepped on my left foot today
Making me less merry, forcing me to delay
It weighed a ton, so what could I do?
I yelled “Get off of my tennis shoe!”

Skittish bison got startled and galloped away
My toe is broken, bleeding, its nail is turning gray.
So, I cannot come over for my play date today.
Maybe you should invite my cousin Jay....

PAYBACK

blood oranges oscillate
within plundered peels

squeezed out surreptitiously
bleeding on her heels

clicking brutish jaws
on paper thin walls

the pied piper grins
with greenback gall

HOWEVER...heaven insists,
maligned orange restitution

purification of every last drop.
shark lust sees only the dark

heel-harpoons of every female
stab his comeuppance heart.

Dry Stone
In its’ drinking of the rain,
Pelted epidemically, absorbed
Of heaven’s thoughts and earthworm prayer;
The colours thaw in rivulets
On slate and brutish stone wash,
Sunk into a crab grass savoir faire.

In its’ sucking of the sun,
Copper hammer beaten, reflects
On somnolent years and rainbow gleams;
A child may brush the surface,
Deposit trace genetic evidence,
Forensics of some past and future dreams…...

Bloody Field
By creating brutish atmosphere
Blood thirsty villains
Even if, the blood dripped
To the ground,
They will be crimped to defenceless
Without able to defy;
By retaining the pain;
Even if they were inclined to darkness,
Were ripped one by one
Only when the soul is separated,
They left the pure hearted,
Thousands of innocent's dead bodies
Laid above others
Blood percolate from each
Thus, it becomes bloody field....

Home Pride
He has been out of country,
	for eighteen months.
Served in Afghanistan,
    	two years now, he says.

He complains about society,
	America today.
Other places better than here,
	terrible here, he says.

The poor woman trapped,
	In the seat beside.
Drank a lot before the flight,
	over and over he says.

Boastful, brutish and arrogant,
	With no ring of the truth.
A sad, loud liar and much more,
	As he rattles on I say....

Gratitude

Perpetual fragrance of life sojourns in air,
As golden glitz of sun swigs despair;

Nature endows its riches on us to cherish,
His boundless bounties will never perish;

A tranquil soul that plucks strings of kindness,
will relinquish soreness of brutish heartless;

Let magnificent aurora of dawn unfold,
and emotions of gratitude rise manifold.

Premium Member Autumn Eschews Silence
“The fog may come on little cat feet”*
But Autumn eschews silence
The thick crunch of crisp fallen foliage
Hastens the homebound honking of gaggled geese
Soft whispers of falling rose petals
Fade into the haze of hoarfrost
Cold winds whistle wildly through naked Maples
Flags snap loudly to attention
A brutish barn cat recoils from the touch of snow
Squawking ducks slowly slide across an icy crust
Chattering children board a school bus
Winter awaits its curtain call
