Beige , wide brimmed straw hat.
And flirting, brown eyes beneath.
Flickers of my past.

brimmed eyes
squinting against the noon brightness.
gloved hands
wiping the salty drops away.
denim moving
with the lankiness beneath.
strong lines
rising as the maul swings

They were my parting gift to her,
They were as fresh as her beauty,
Her face glowed as she received them,
Tears brimmed in her eyes,
Our gazes were fixed on each other
until she was out of sight.

She spent so much of her time
in her mind wildly churning
fantasy with deep yearning
which she spun like useless twine,
then grew old, never learning
that her dreams, like clouds, had dimmed
joy with which life might have brimmed.

If
I eat
today’s feast,
it will be brimmed
With tastes of daring
flavors inside for sure,
spicy with a pinch of shame.
But truth be told, the bite is good,
teaches me to keep my opinions
Cause I have eaten a few hats in life.

I dug out the
big pieces of
black soil of
my choice,
Crumbled them
in a tank,
removed the
humus and
pebbles;
Then the soil's
soaked and
kneaded 'to
paste I placed
On my wheel
and moulded
all 'ese various-
shaped
vessels!

The glow of day along the horizon
Steadily moved more distant
As my thoughts became more brimmed
With you as the theme.
Whose eyes where I to see ?
Whose hand would reach toward me ?
Whose voice would light within my ear
Telling of her presence near ?

O, I love my dear boy
So dearly and so blindly
I will give him my blood
And life if God permits so
He's so weak and sick
So pallid and so tender
But I know he's an umbrella of snow
In the wide-brimmed form
A rhyme, a loft
Almost in the spelling of my own world.

Tears have brimmed just beneath
a facade I afford humanity.
Held at bay with fragile strength,
weakened by emotional casualty.
Pain, anger. I unravel.
Elements of personality lost.
I feel my essence shrivel.
Patience like an angry sea, storm tossed.

Abigail forgive me
Breaking your heart in the invisible day
Itinerant always ... pushed by history
Gently breaking bonds in brimmed dismay.
Angel of my better memories
Incessant friend ... from a small flower grown
Love blooms again where understanding is sown.

Trump threw fake air kisses
To his very bored looking Mrs.
Funny, how her wide brimmed hat
Deterred them from the love rat.
So many of the laws he broke
He will soon begin to revoke.
What a shame he’s the POTUS
A STORMY four years for Flotus

O’er this land I roam
Eternally through sorrow
Escaping thy ‘morrow
Seeking thine home
Pocketed tools, head hung low
Stones kicked roll swift
They flee thee as on I go, bereft
Woeful and yes full brimmed regret
Tears nay neither sweat nor dew
I would shed existence for you

Benevolent
Limerick
Written: by “Miracle Man”
7/10/2018
I once knew this man, who was quite benevolent,
But began showing signs of becoming malevolent;
His heart brimmed with hate,
He became easy to exasperate.
Since his passing civility is much more prevalent.

So much time wasted
So many years
Consumed with inner turmoil
Cried an ocean of tears
Zero self confidence
Brimmed with inadequacy
Failed before l even began
“Everyone else can do it …..but me!”
l found inner peace
My soul was set free
No more time wasted
Just loving being me!

the soiling scowls of cumulus night
the life soars, and the broken locks blight
he shrugged off fears that pull and ignite
embrace a life ~ of ongoing grief and guilt
his hours brimmed with adamant wilt...

her eyes were
speaking
love
glint peace tranquility
we are about to take
off to eternity
running away
eternal wisdom of love
brimmed with tears
anguish of pain
giving way to assurance
of freedom
dampening power of
my withering cells
charging rejuvenating
at the probability
of the journey
life is a journey
of bliss

Fancies
Hats worn sidesaddle sporting feathers, cornflowers
Whimsy rides in sequins, ribbons and plumes
Small or broad brimmed, laces form floating towers
Swooping pillboxes off to the races clad in blooms
Dedicated to the fanciful hats called Fancies worn at the Kentucky Derby and Royal Ascot Races.

A rabbit's life, tragically upended
because of the company he befriended -
where, once, happiness had brimmed,
he grew old, and his eyesight dimmed.
His brain slowed down like molasses.
'Twas then I saw him wearing glasses.
So, pitifully, he did implore,
but the carrot said, "don't darken my door".
In the end, he took the dead man's walk,
led by a vitamin A-poor celery stalk.

donning summer's broad-brimmed hat
for LOVE of sunshine

unworn since last november
garden work my FUN
laggard spring was late and cold
urgent..seeding must get done
dig them up and put them in
setting sets in ..seeding seeds

My favorite hat is a wide brimmed straw hat
This hat has a bright orange ribbon hat band
The orange shorts matched and that is where it is at!
Little cabanna girl I got titled; Isn't life grand
It is perfect for the windy, sunny beach and sand
Until the day the pelican flew it away
So long cabanna girl
Now I am topless, my shorts did stay
I searched for my pearl
with no success, now I wear a curl!

The face of this old man painted
as the pastel portrait mute,
turned grey the hard way,
looks at the memory space vacant.
The pensive eyes, one shrouded by
the shadow of sorrow,
the other brimmed by
the film of frozen tears unshed
for the dear ones gone,
engraved in the webbed face
as the scars of the lost time.

Steps snoring on the slipperless carpet
At snail sped a thought brimmed him
His tendons and tensions are thawing wet
Ang glazed eyes graze upon the dim
Evening ekeing out its sunset ending day
In wet seas of memory that washes away
That joy that kindled him by treat of kiss
That joy now folded like skin and put away
Left him fogged with feeling, empty and grey
He is weighted with thoughts of people he missed.

Verse
Just the town children ne'er
feasted a forest of one tree's
in a labyrinth of the uninvited
stirs like cream in cocoa
--rightfully aloof
Their eyes steeped in a delft brew
brimmed by clamourous whispers
of an ephemeral sound alights a tortoise
yet ne'er have tea
--unwittingly
Juxtaposition compares bears none to
contrast, ne'ertheless, true to form,
town children
--they'd be.

Verse
There was a lady
Who had a cream brimmed hat
That had and band with a little red
And a crown of black
Well she went out one day
Looking really fancy
In this hat
And red and gold earrings
But she didn’t wear her jewels on her ears
Because she was a little strange
She wore her earrings on her hat
Because like I said, she was a little deranged
