Blazing wild meadows,
Cherry blossoms, budding green,
Cascades of flowers!
Spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains
is a gilt orange season.

The Morning Sun
The morning sun.
As the morning sun pecked over the ridge.
In to the valley, you could see the fog and the morning dew burning away.
Dew from the new spring leaves.run to the ground.
Down in the valley, the cows were grazing on the fresh cut hay.
The sun brightens the valley with each ray.
The blue ridge mountains stand so tall in the background as the morning sun
rises above.
Just another day in the morning sun...

Granny, hunched over the woodstove –
I smell fatback frying in cast iron,
Scents of morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Along with hazy mists hanging across them,
Parting for the sunlight as it makes its way up
Over the hills that surround every heart
Living out life on hardscrabble roads of old times.

Blue Ridge Mountains
Sometimes I am in doubt
about why I am here

Here amongst these mountains
certainly not just anywhere

The path seemed to just effortlessly
want to open itself to me

The draw was powerfully magnetic
So I surrendered and let go
of the part that was hectic

Often now as I drive over a hill
and I look into a luscious green dale
my feelings of joy give me little chills

My eyes water and my breath is taken away
by the beauty I am surrounded by
every single day....
