Cursed
As a societal pariah,
am I not deserving a grand denouement?
When my tale reaches zenith,
will I be shackled,
by the abhorrent atrocities,
your accursed kind has wrought,
upon my tempestuous form?
Light my pyre,
I need a tan....

Lighthouse Spotlight
Lost at sea yet the lighthouse blinds me,
crash into a cliff and a siren’s beckoning,
breast beat slowing as gravity crushes me in twilight.

As my specter bubbles to the surface,
I come by an ancient creature,
bioluminescence and teeth jagged.

He seems friendly.

Who am I to judge....

In The Garden
If you look
            You will find me

            Here in the garden
                            By my favorite roses
Now black
                                      Where you buried me

                                          Signed
                                            Mommy

Siren Sing For Me
Too many sailors who have lived to tell,
Her siren song permeates,
day by day it fell.
Luring in ships to crash,
break,
splinter on cliffs,
She masters ethereal crescendos,
opera riffs.

Each day leads boats astray,
the reel of the sea witch,
Nay terror,
her voice pitch rich is much more bewitch....

Looking Glass of Dreams
I use philosophical musings,
My key maker is reverie,
A few attempts may be needed,
Alignment may not occur each time.
Upon success, the door opens,
A mirror stands there, devoid of reflection,
Then a ripple, whatever part of you hidden,
Manifests.
It grasps you digging talons in,
drags you inside,
Beware, can take possession of your husk,
enjoy the ride....

Beatrix Potter
A good old duck, a mother hen,
a friend of Peter Rabbit; chased
Mr. McGregor out of the garden:
the Flopsy Bunnies survive again.

She knew her ewes from her rams,
meticulous, house-proud in her way.
A hedgehog, a Mrs. Tiggy Winkle
every field mouse allowed to stay.

Cumbria and the Lake District
will never see her like again:
North country girl, illustrator,
storyteller with brush and pen....

Rose Tinted Windshields
Quicksand caught generation epoch, restless whirring of a drill in the dust. Zenith of color shifts saturation to none, black and white film on video cassette. Ensnared in a cage lowering to molten, hourglass is losing sand to run dry. Eyes fixate to the sunny horizon, flicker dims as monsters crawl, from beneath beds, closets, bathroom stalls. Those noises, creaks in the floor, are very real. Ignore them, rummy for thy belly to fill.

My Hearts Garden
Crafts loves this is a mystery I see
I didn’t know I suffer the same fate
I too have a garden, mahogany
Vines twist rocks onyx and alabaster
Oaks and ember leaves in zeal flutter light
Azure sky cast a mirror reflection below
Teardrop in the serene meadow this day
Ripples it all a sepulcher tomb gray
I want to know beauty but lack the view
My breast beat is this and this is charcoal
I can’t write gardens like you, I lack hue
That’s why this place is a cemetery...

Unwanted Gifts

She checked out the biggest gift first
Saw what was inside when it burst
Two seven foot blokes
Telling God-awful jokes
But that wasn’t even the worst...

A very small piano musician
Adopted a seated position
My ear-drums are ringing
At least he ain’t singing
As he starts yet another rendition

I think Santa speed-read our list
Or maybe some items got missed
My good wife, Beatrix
Got a big pair of twits
And I got an eighteen inch pianist...
