School work leads to thrilling careers
Say hooray hip hip--give three cheers!
A student's new skill
Brings success just until
The bill for the loan's in arrears!
dust finally clears
lies crestfallen amongst peers
sunflowers worse fears
nasty accident with shears
fraid not ~ fell into arrears
If a problem disappears, is its solution still viewed in arrears

Our mistakes are paid
in generations of denial
Old footsteps defaulting,
new judgments on file
The future in debt
to invoices past
tomorrow debentured
—arrears mounting fast

My wife and I lived happily for twenty years
Then we met!!! Ever since I've been in arrears
Oh for the good old days
Enjoyed my “being right” phase
Ever since I've become dead between the ears
Me and my wife lived happily for twenty years
Then we met!!! Ever since I've been in arrears
Oh for the good old days
Enjoyed my “being right” phase
Ever since, I've become dead between the ears
Me and my wife lived happily for twenty years
Then we met!!! Ever since I've been in arrears
Oh for the good old days
Enjoyed my “being right” phase
Ever since, I've become dead between the ears
Me and my wife lived happily for twenty years
Then we met!!! Ever since I've been in arrears
Oh for the good old days
Enjoyed my “being right” phase
Ever since, I've become dead between the ears
Mom mad
Dad sad
Cat spat
Yes, that!
Money’s tight
Dire plight
Work slow
Bills flow
In arrears
Dun appears
Extended date
Payment late
Credit score
Very poor

The sun in arrears,
its moon in default
With stars in foreclosure,
the cosmos to halt
All time repossessed,
the Creator has gone
Awaiting implosion,
—that last singing swan
(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2017)
Has the future made a profit
by selling out your dreams
Marking up expectations,
closing out self esteem
Interest bearing hopes uncashed,
wishes in arrears
Creditors loom, the past foreclosed
—tomorrow paid in tears
(Villanova Pennsylvania: August, 2020)
Gaping open wounds that never heal
Is this what is for each of us is the real deal
Sometimes it’s the pain
That in the end remains
You may think your heart will break
For what in the end will you make
Of this world of bitter tears
Look to ante up you may be in arrears.

As my world crumbles around me
The sadness stings like a bee
As my mind fails to keep me strong
As my life seems to be gone
The loneliness grows tall
The tears continue to fall
As my hope disappears
The joy is kept in arrears
As my heart yearns for love again
The sorrow seems to be the trend.
Wrinkles deepening with the fleeting years
Show worry and sadness and nothing to come.
Her starry eyed plans are now in arrears
And gone is the look of delicious aplomb.
Her world-class body brought whistles and cheers
Now hid under muumuus to old age succumb.
She works on her tan on manicured lawn
Dreaming of pageants until she is gone.
A man and woman met
in a moving passenger train
Fell in love they did
but both had long noses
two weeks they tried to kiss
but no way to reach there
both noses pleaded long
both tried grabbing chances
but no success within reach
let’s go to doctor for advice
and lo! surgery was done
and so were able to kiss
and kiss and kiss in arrears
Fond as fine can be,
Etch succinct align;
Embrace mystery,
Live that clear design.
Reach a deeper stay,
Allow clarity;
Prime a better way,
Thrill in sure beauty;
Unleash pure finesse,
Recall a sure light;
Endow a bold jazz.
Note that sacred sight;
Observe a glimpse clear,
Words confront arrears.

Down by the sea
Soft waves call to me
They motion my emotions
forever calls to be free
I float with contentment
Abated from fear
They complete my resentment
With nothing to hear.
We are one with our bodies
All purpose crystal clear,
We pass through each other
Liquidating the years
Assimilating, accommodating
All life in arrears
The waters of our planet,
are made of our Tears.
Full is the quiver when sharp is the spear
Be downcast in slivers, take a huge slice of cheer
Starve a harsh tongue; it withers the ear
Mourn with a river of tears
Shiver with joy and not fear
The man who delivers, lives in the clear
Good scriveners scribe in multiple spheres
Be a forgiver of those in arrears
Protect the liver from too many beers
Always give praise to the Giver of years
Romance to me is like a toy
New and fresh, than I enjoy
But as the months drew into years
Anniversary in arrears
Where did the love that once we shared
go, was it ever truly there?
Soulmate for some might be true
Not for me, old pal, and as for you?
If it helps you to hold that debris
Then who am I to set you free?
But for myself I know full well
From Her wrath, I'd rather chance in hell!
Asleep not, my muse begins to trot,
Evoking whispers of willow
In my memorial mirage.
Asleep not, my concern is hot.
It has nothing to pillow
But your cold corsage.
Solely awake solely in wait
Whether affectional arrears
Find the atonement too late
To recoup your stray tears.
Half desirous half in despair
How my wistful heart dithers
When into thin air
Years of attendance withers.
Listen to poem:
there’s nothing glamorous or charming
about being in debt
about being behind and in arrears
with dues hanging over our head
but somehow i’m inclined
to feel a ripple in my velvet
a tingling warmth in the caress
of being indebted to you
and maybe one day
i’ll hear you whisper
that you’re ready
to cash in on my debt

I love courage fear and hate
All Ships view old stormy sailors arrears endurance
In adventure and life sails
As the sailors disappears
loving you Manatee so quiet
He's in the galley eating squid seafood diet
The Son and all the sins of this world
Our like an old seashell pearl
Sparkles like in a diamond
Like on the sand on the muddy shores

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2020
I'm filled with regret seeing you in tears
please forgive me; I know you can't forget
the way I've treated you over the years;
I'm filled with regret.
Pulling the strings of my marionette
I convinced myself you spilled silly tears,
and ignored the pain of my Juliet.
Forever fuels frustration's fears,
and I feel as bad as a man can get
allowing my love to be in arrears;
I'm filled with regret.
His memory is beginning to fade
there are moments when he forgets her name
though they’ve been married for thirty-five years.
Through it all she maintains a bright charade
because she knows, there is no one to blame
her fears.
Sometimes he speaks of moments long ago
frayed fragments dredged from time’s jumbled arrears
of people and places they once did know.
In that brief moment, their love together glows
through tears.
overcome over fifty years
I have a dream, in arrears
we shall - shall we?
well - we'll see
fifty years later and
the ***** still is not free
tell 'em about the dream
again Martin
tell 'em Trayvon - tell Martin
