Precipice
Arizona cliffs
Above rippling waters' rush.
Floodwaters spill out.

Outside the storefront
I see the heavy rain fall
No signs of stopping
My Arizona fruit juice
Keeps my mind off the shower
My cousin from Arizona
I wish I’d never known her
She put our Granny on
The rim of the Cany-on
Then calmly pushed her over!
As I type here
Thinking of you
Off to Arizona
Two planes flew
Fountain Hills
Where they stay
At home I miss
You for 10 days
Spiny horned lizard
Arizona sand digger
Flat body blunt snout
Where are you going
With slithery ugliness
Wait up old friend
Today I rode into Tucson
Determined to buy a new futon
A squirt in a skirt
Got down in the dirt
And flashed me a discount coupon
Florida springtime
as well as in Arizona.
Baseball’s back.
Start of a new season.
New hopes arise.

Oracle, Arizona gold
Is just a tale prospectors told
If you walk that land
You will find quicksand
And underneath that its just cold
A bunny can hop, jump, and leap
And sit up straight whilst fast asleep
A tortoise must climb
One step at a time
Spurred on by the Roadrunner's beep
Stepping out from under its shadow,
basking in the light
Morning returns what yesterday stole
—memory taking flight

An Apache hid out in Dragoon
Was revealed by the sight of his moon
In Judge Roy Bean's twang
Came, "By God, you'll hang!
You caused Lily Langtry to swoon!"
Mark Reynolds, Arizona Diamondback.
With a baseball bat, you take a healthy whack.
You can hit home runs without a doubt.
Why is it so many times you strike out?
I like arizona iced tea.
Drinking it gives me glee.
When I read the bottle I see
The message it’s conveying to me.
I like arizona iced tea.
Romantic Ramona from Verona
Fell hard for a matador named Jonah
She hopped on a plane
Headed straight for Spain
Found out Jonah lived in Arizona
Lay!
Bare bones,
stew'd in smoke of eye--
sun man,
send no buzzards unto me;
the canyon is my home
red rock walls
coyote calls
all in all,
the A-Zone is the place to be.

John John is revelling in good time fun
Lucky to be relaxing in the Arizona sun

Musta bamboozled the banks outta funds!

Wake up artist,
My love for you is so surreal,
It makes me,
Feel,
High,
Bound for Arizona,
For a future,
You and I,
Fly,
Moving up,
Day by day,
One day,
We’ll be living the good life.
sunset serenade in Arizona
eagles do a tango dance
angels send a pink fog
enhancing the goodbye of the sun
God smiles at their playfulness
loving His creatures
delighting in their ingenuity
My Arizona buddy says he sees only grey hair
Also shiny domes which cause quite a glare
Poor soul whatta shame
Must cause JJ to exclaim
Looking in a mirror, “my eyesight's impaired”!
Paint ponies in the snow
delicate dusting across their backs
like confectioner sugar
sifted
so fine... and
puffy, light, white powder
laying on the land..
Oh how we love
our gentle
Arizona winters!
Sick. Post-alcohol.
Line. Bathroom stall.
Arizona. Trembling soul.
Tourist. Obligatory stroll.
Trailhead. The Grand View.
Crowd. Suffocating solitude.
Death. One false step.
Breathing. Relentless regret.
Hawaii’s coffee is Kona
Mexico’s beer is Corona
But Tucson loves Stock
And now owns a used Glock
For the gun culture of Arizona
Author's note: News flash--Glocks are now flying off the shelves in Arizona.
Its special indifference
and weathering smile,
reminds every passer
—its strength and its guile
It stands in the desert
alone and unbowed,
to flower in protest
—its nature avowed
