Have heard that there is an Andromeda strain,
But being of sense parents had many a grain;
She was laden
With name maiden;
Shortened name to Andrea and it will remain.

Astronomer
Chasing stars from his clumsy steeple
I heard the fate of
Andromeda
in the curse of a thousand people
Fallen! Broken! Praise be
Damned!
The star has flown and will never

Cassiopeia, with

A haggard bit of burnt toast
long since bruise-colored
forlorn, it keeps to itself
'midst crumbs indeterminate
Scuff marks from stylish pumps
as dull now as the coat of
neglect draped over the floor
onto which shone Andromeda
Violet frequency.
Blurred in mercurial blue.
Prosed in my mind.
Remained your secrets in a verdant hue.
Ardent and warm...
I was held in your celestial arms.
Ardent and warm...
I was departed and unborn.
From a world unfree.
And hearts of scorn.

I look up to the sky,
Pegasus,
Big Dipper,
The Dragon,
andromeda... stars
distant, so close to me...!
I look at the earth,
lost birds,
endless deserts,
ownerless forests,
mountains... never land
so close to here...
so distant from me...!

I gaze upon you on a clear, starry night.
What a beautiful sight you are to my eye.
For ages, you have been a cosmic delight.
You were named for someone in mythology.
The stars outline you, and display your beauty.

He is strong and mighty, and will save the day.

Swoop past Alpha Centauri, Andromeda and Sirius

To fly 'round the heavens -- ecstasy's bliss

We look and see a blur
within the sky at night
how far she whirls from us
but if we have the aid
of Hubble’s telescope
it will reveal a trillion stars
like grains of sand that swell
an earthly beach or riverbank
though many light years past
this galaxy and ours will meet
ten billion years from now
when man and sun are gone
she and the Milky Way
sent swirling through infinity

The speed of light exceeded
all flashes turn inside
To burn and bend eternal
where life no longer dies

whose orbits spin and weave
Their presence all revealing
what black holes can’t retrieve
Inside there are no limits
or borders to constrain
The words forever calling
