Premium Member Losing My Marbles and Then Some
I scratched my head
    my brain fell out
  It ambled 'cross the table

  Stared at me
    most curiously, grinned ~
  Then pronounced me disabled...

The Boss
The dog got a crack from the cat, in the face
When he ambled into the cat's air space
The cat gave the dog, the stare of "I am boss"
But to why he got a crack, the dog was at a loss....

The Path
Oh, long ago secluded path
On through the green wood ambled

Winding, winding evermore
   Through brush and forest bramble

By stream and silent meadow
   Its onward course did wind

Forward, forward deep
   This path of no mankind...

Rain
I ambled down to the beach
To adore the misery of twilight
I Lit the red candle's of hope
Cloud's whispered together
Showered me with wishes
Red petal's came together
Floating in happiness
I stretched out my hand
To say thankyou
For the best present i ever had...

Apologies
Apologies to the little scamp
who marked on the edge of good humor
who spread his mess on the wall

Apologies to the blubber
mouth who ambled through a whole
half-decade

Apologies for the half-whispered
"shut up" spoken to lipstick queens
with too much attitude....

Premium Member Far Into the Night
a neighbor’s water hose sent
a roaring rapid down the sidewalk curb

our popsicle sticks navigated
through the rocks and raging current

street lights with ominous hue
implored our curfew

we ambled along cheering
those popsicle sticks on
far, far, far into the night...

Premium Member The Woods Were Quiet
The woods were quiet yesterday
I ambled through in lengthened stay

I heard no chatter, hoot or tweet
The only sound my leaden feet

Tree leaves were still, no shadows danced
No bullfrogs echoed morning chants

For in this woodland reverie
The animals were watching me...

Protesting Ducks
As I ambled around the village pond

I skimmed a stone through reed and frond,

In distress, ducks took flight

Guilty I, to cause them fright.

Protesting loudly in their quacking

My common sense seemed sadly lacking,

I never thought that stone I chucked

Would cause such grief, to little ducks....

Midnight drive in absent minded dark
Where wood poles are magnetic
Where all the cardinal directions
pull towards,
The iron inside my heart burns
to burst from my chest
I have led all the metals
and minerals inside of me
To someplace astray
I took a dizzying route
I ambled from star to star
To carve out
incomprehensible constellations...

Paradise of Tulips

Regal tulips in purple, blue and yellow
pink splendor ambled in sensuous glow
tantalizing rows of frenzy red capes
beauty swaying ...bouncing in waves.

Clustered far and wide, their pouted lips
flirting through a prism, beams of tulips.
demure dance and frolic, tempting kisses
spring gives birth...a rainbow of wishes.

The path I walk, so serene and divine,
This paradise I know will never be mine....

Come She Said
I kissed her 'neath the silver birch
"Come she said, we're missing church,"
I kissed her by the wishing well,
"Come she said, I hear the bells."

I kissed her by the old church gate
"Come she said, or we'll be late."
Beside the church on bended knee
I asked my love to marry me.

"Come she said let's go inside
And yes my love, I'll be your bride."
She kissed me as we ambled through,
And quietly whispered, "I love you."...
