The Woods Were Quiet

The woods were quiet yesterday
I ambled through in lengthened stay

I heard no chatter, hoot or tweet
The only sound my leaden feet

Tree leaves were still, no shadows danced
No bullfrogs echoed morning chants

For in this woodland reverie
The animals were watching me

A creative write. I enjoyed it. If they are watching you, you could be dinner. Have a great day.............

A very eerie vibe, John, but very well described so as to put your readers in the midst of those woods.
