A Rose By Any Other Name
In France they don’t call it a pothole
Instead they call it a hen’s nest
It sounds much nicer doesn’t it?
But for drivers, they’re still a pest...

In Stillness
In stillness,
No me and you
No you and me;
Me then you
You then me.
Hate to disappoint,
Not even tea for two.
Do what you will with that,
A rose by any other name. . ....

"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"*

But would you stop to sniff a rose labeled Stinky Athletes' Feet?! ;-P

A Rose By Any Other Name
He pricked himself

reaching for the rose,

the scent and beauty

drawing him near.

He was determined

approaching again and again.

He found more thorns

that further injured him.

Growing annoyed,

roughly grabbing,

more scrapes, cuts and then

he crushed the flower with his hand.

She screamed....

In Their Rooks
Are you a Poet or tactician,
or “A Rose By Any Other Name…”

Are your words stained with patina,
some would scrub and some would blame

Is your Kingly verse too rough for some,
finding safety in their books

Is your verse uncut with edges sharp
—all Princes in their rooks

(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2017)...

The Last Dance of Romeo and His Juliet
the moon lights our early demise,
close your eyes for loves lost dream,
leave my rose the thorns deceive me,
for even a prick it bleeds for she,

portraits painted of my heart beating,
Eros burns me with her flame,
sold my soul to the Virgin Mary,
held in my hands eternal pain.

Forgive me lord for times of treason,
she is my sun, my mist, my snow, my rain,
the last dance with my juliet,
a rose by any other name,...

Twenty years have past
The memories strong
The tears still flow

Yes, I’ve gone and mourned the site;
Placed a rose on an unknown name,
Placed a wreath on an unknown grave.

Yes, I’ve prayed for those lost souls.
Sowed hate in my heart,
Hoping it would pass.
Planted forgiveness in my soul,
Hoping it would grow

Yes, I still hate.
Yet, I still wonder why
I need a cloth to dampen my tears.

A Rose By Any Other Name Is Just As Sweet
Looking into your eyes, I can see the signs. Baby, my hearts on fire. A million daisies, Growing in a field Could not fill my hearts desires. The way you hold me, The looks I see in your eyes. The feeling of your arms around me. The way my heart jumps, When you enter the room. The way your eyes glow, when your focused on me. There aren't many words That I can say to you, But the few words i can say Baby, I love you.

* Creator kissed, with a radiance, that comes from deep within
Perfection caught so effortlessly, in the amber mood of day
Petal by petal, she opens up, no shyness in her bloom
A gilded queen, a gift of sun, she takes my breath away
And though a rose is still a rose by any other name...
All other roses would simply hide their blooming heads in shame

Rose
I don't know Rose by any other name
I do not even know this rose at all
that's because she never stays the same
for she can be a window or a wall
A window when you search to find the light
a wall when you are weak and cannot stand
back to back she'll see you thru the fight
to be whatever friend the needs demand
I don't know rose by any other name
I do not really know this rose at all
but when you called her you know that she came
there to be a window or a wall....

Be My Valentine
To call a rose by any other name
Could never do justice to you
To see you name there in the frame
Makes my heart go out to you…

A rose as fair, perfumed to perfection
The palest yellow petals that glow
Make my heart beat as though with infection
My temperature it raises so.

So Mystic lady I ask you this one time
If I were a boy, rich, strong and tall
Would you then be my valentine?
And we can leave now, and sod them all.

A Rose By Any Other Name
i journied through a forrest covered in haze.
through the thick grey fog there was a bright glow of red.
i stumbled trying to make my way towards it,
tripping on the roots from apple trees.
i came closer to this red. a rose was revealed.
this rose was mesmerising. my hand reached for it without thought.
immediately, i threw my now red fingers back.
under this rose were thorns sharp as daggers.
in my state of confusion, i could’ve sworn i heard Someone say,
“this is not yours to take”...
