O I
am so
sad now
that she left
for up above.
Fourteen years
is a long time
to love a cat,
this sweet.
A kitty came
that fit my hand
all fluffy and purring,
she loved to cuddle
all the long nights.
I held her in my arms
till her body was stone.
And now I go to the place
where I buried my beauty.
I told my friends- no, no,
more cats for this here girl.
They say just give it time!
Oh, oh my- days are empty,
sometimes, I hear her soft
meow call, calling for me,
in my home tomb silent.
  Tears,
        fall
          fall
       fall
          ing
        like
          rain
            on
               my
                   new
                       kit
                          ty.

Enjoy some soup, Poetry Soup that is I love it so
All kinds of ingredients go into the pot to cook,
You don’t believe me? Right now just take a look
There is wonderful poetry some of it you can write
Places to learn about, so many that are out of sight
There's art from the classics see how many you spot
Stories are fun to read, some in rhyme, some not
All the forms of poetry, some short, some are long
All will tell you about your poetry what is strong
Competitions to enter so welcome right along
You can write short stories if you are inclined
Just sit back read great poems, to unwind
Important ingredient still one more
It will be your favorite I am sure
The one you come back for
It’s the friends you make
Combine it no mistake
Mix it with friendship, to bake
Bake slowly til tender and easy eaten
Take a big taste your life will sweeten

My Heart Gently Weeps

As this year draws
to its end, this feeling of // melancholy sweeps me
by surprise. Images of acquaintances \\ and cousins I lost this year
grinning at me. Depictions of lovers, // friends, my Mama, my brother, my
niece I lost in the last two years \\ beaming at me. Clear images of
my Papa and Mommy, the one // who raised me and others,
who were very closed to me \\ I lost in the past are
smiling at me. Some are dead, // some
left. In remembering \\ them,
my heart // gently
weeps.

Premium Member SO IT IS CHRISTMAS

So
it is
Xmas, time
to rejoice the
coming of the Lord.
Time to thank Him for what
you have: family, friends, health;
time to think of what you have done;
time to be still in His presence---peace.
Joy
to
the world!

Premium MemberThe Shape of Conformity

Ice is water that held the container tight
and found the shape of its containment just right.
Water has no shape when not confined,
No dish, no jar, or holding wall to design.
Vapor is water without many friends
Up from the heat and containment it assends.

i
sat
a star
atop my tree for
all the world
to see
i
lit it
decorated
it was
a most delightful sight
my tree stood tall
i was so proud
dangling from each branch
i hung a wish for health happiness and love
dispensing wishes freely way out loud
merry christmas to one and all
i'd like everyone to have family and friends
around the table enjoying a fabulous festive meal
above all i mostly wish for health and a child’s passion for joy
love

Typical Day

Your eyes are sharp, and your smile is straight,
No doubt of this, in the game of poker!

Your friends will talk, and say you are great,
But deep down inside, you’re still a joker!

You have your coffee, and you take your pills,
Cruising in the “A” would be more of a thrill.

Buddies Hobo & Wylie, will lie in your lap,
Now that we know, you are a loving sap.

Your eyes are blue, and your hair is gray,
As strong as glue, we know you will pray.

I’m glad you’re my Dad, for which I look up to,
Over time and age, I hope to be just like you.

Apples & oranges, not your garden of choice,
But tomatoes & peppers are tasty & moist.

With memories of thought, and words to say,
Of thinking of ought, and not the word hey.

So with hugs of laughter and hope to say,
Wishing you my love on this Happy Father’s Day

From your Son,

Words, Like Wind

words,
like wind,
sweep away thoughts,
of dark cyclones twisting,
truth, friction, half-lies and neither,
informing or deceit, inane and blowing,
mouths moving on removable friends,
smiles on plastic faces,
syrup or pap,
save us!
no,
not now,
maybe not ever,
this bed we made,
then wish not to sleep,
in piles of lies, cheap copies,
of honor bright, a truth,
and loudly act outraged,
at ending's result,
of liberty,
lost,
in dustbins,
or unrealized dreams,
our milk honeyed mess,
grand finale of men's trust,
bold blueprint, balm to burnt history,
of man's inhumanity to man,
but so easily rendered,
by hungering beasts,
bleating lambs,
slaughtered,
easily by,
those darkeyed ones,
wolves in men's skin,
whispering paradise, serving cold rain,
but push back the dark, oh
upright and clear eyed ones,
regain that firm foothold,
grasping the mantle,
willfully, again,
rise.

IT'S
A DAY
WHEN WE
HONOR THE
MANGER-BORN
KING, WHO WITH
CAROLS WE PRAISE
AS THE STEEPLE BELLS
RING. IT'S WHEN PEOPLE
RETURN TO WITH FAMILY BE
AND TEAR OPEN THE PRESENTS
PILED UNDER THE
TREE. DECORATIONS
ABOUND AND ENLIVEN
THE DAY. SMILING HOSTS
WILL A BANQUET DELICIOUS
DISPLAY. AS WE COMPLIMENT
COOKS WE WITH GUSTO DIG IN.
AFTER END OF DESSERT, WAISTS
NO LONGER ARE THIN. WHILE SOME
ELDERLY KIN TAKE THEIR AFTERNOON
NAPS, ALL THE YOUNGSTERS PLAY GAMES
OR JUST GAZE AT THEIR APPS. MANY OTHERS
RECLINE TO WATCH FOOTBALL
AND SCHMOOZE. IT'S FORBIDDEN
TO MENTION POLITICAL VIEWS. WE
INSTEAD THEN DISCUSS WHAT WE DID
SINCE LAST YEAR, WHILE MORE CAKES WE
CONSUME WITH OUR COFFEES AND BEER. WE
SPEND HOURS HAVING FUN WITH OUR CLAN AND
OUR FRIENDS. THEN WITH VANISHING SUNLIGHT THE
AFTERNOON ENDS. AFTER HANDSHAKES AND HUGS AND
EXTENDED GOODBYES, GUESTS DEPART BEARING PRESENTS
AND LEFTOVER PIES. WE FEEL SAD AS WE WATCH ALL THE CARS
DISAPPEAR FOR WE'LL MANY NOT SEE UNTIL THIS TIME NEXT YEAR.
THIS LONG, GLORIOUS DAY
WE SHALL ALWAYS RECALL
AND SINCERELY HERE WISH
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Faith Only Seems Implausible

I endeavor to daily study God’s word and trust in Jesus.
I choose my close friends carefully because...
         my ears
            my eyes
                my mouth
keep focused on the presence of a sweet spirit for direction in my every prayer and song. God's grace is the miracle; faith only seems implausible.

When I let the Holy Spirit lead me - MY efforts are nil.
It is much like embarking on an unprecedented journey
        I'm deaf
             I'm blind
                 I'm mute
but I know God is never wrong. When I let Him work THROUGH me, my thoughts, my words and my actions align with His purpose, Resurrection is the miracle. Faith only seems implausible.

I fell in love with a square
He fell in love with me
We got to know each other
Shortly after I met his friends

They took one look at me
Then bursts into laughter
Hurt words were said to me
It was then in total shock

My boyfriend laughed at me
I said..we were never meant to be
You go your way..I'll go mine
A circle is meant for me.

leaves talking like friends

                                           as
                            they
               free
fall

a spiritual wind kisses them red

                                                    and
                                    squirrels
                        scurry
            under
them

collecting acorns, dusting an earthen shelf.

                                 leaves
                              softly land
                            and are raked
                      into a great gathering
                   huddled in the autumn air
leaves talking about life and death
