Premium MemberInspirations

There are so many things
from which my inspiration springs.
Heroes rare, who do what's right,
powered by goodness, not by fright
(MLK and Joan Baez) -
what they do, not just what they sez.
Friends, who, daily, monthly, weekly,
find ways to give uniquely.
Nature has a special place,
stirring me with matchless grace,
but, the first place in my heart
is for women and men of art.
Novels, film, painting - I'm engrossed,
but pretty songs do the utmost
to find the fountain that flows within -
my soul's expression to begin.
Art shows me who I am, you see,
and also, what I can be.

Premium MemberHeather

Heather, Oh Heather
The worst waitress ever
Whenever will you come back to me?
I sit here forever
No service is rendered
And never do ever complain

Heather, Oh Heather
It’s so hard to remember
And it’s easy as pie to forget
With so many orders
And Special de Jours
If only you could find your pen

Heather, Oh Heather
It sez here in the paper
That people are where they eat
Together, they’ll find us
Alone in the diners
Apart from the lives we lead

Heather, Oh Heather
The worst waitress ever
The service was splendored today
We’ll take us together
Away and forever
And never will ever complain

Premium MemberOn the Blue Moon

A sweetie dialed up,
to the Dark knight.
Sez mac the knife,
He won't treat me right.
Knight sez Oh No,
Just one thing to do.
Let's go to a Bash,
on the Blue Moon.

Slim Polly, Tall Sally.
And Suzi Q.
All play in the band,
Know how to Groove
Filled up their van,
hit auto cruise,
Flew to a Gig,
on the Blue Moon.

Rock Robin, Big Jim,
with Duke of Earle.
Sing in the band,
put a swirl on a curl.
They got the flash,
Alotta hot tunes.
Made a Big Splash.
on the Blue Moon.

"Ole" Rudy Vallee,
is the Dude on the moon,
He crooned at the bash,
All the gals swooned.
Everyone sez yeah,
let's do that again soon.
Plannin a new Bash.
On the Blue Moon.

Premium MemberDo Remember

Do Remember
Do Remember...
    Gifts jiggle, just like laughter
    Hidden in small places.
    Ever after, means ever after!
We'll be fine... our chosen spaces.
 Do Remember…
Girls never want a gift of soap
Instead… pile up hugs with mucho kisses!
Favorite perfumes, not on a rope.
Tickle time on my toes…2 + 5 never misses!
 Do Remember…
    Time rocks my boat..marry merry
    Hissee fits...unacceptable day or night
    Alone time always n-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y!
    Talking time, jives just right!
 Do Remember…
    Going far while keeping near
    I won’t forget ..there’s date-day and tonight
   Vows we championed..true and clear
You say, "I do." Me sez,"He's right!"
 Do Remember…
    Years ago our saga triggered
    Onward through zigzagging ways
    Unique freedom…for as we figured
    Our fame... outlasting fathomed days.
Do Remember…
     I respect our unknown destiny
Always you, who's hip-hip with me!
     Confirm our road! What trajectory
     True mates...true blue. We're WE!

Take the word “TRUMP”, reverse it and change two letters
You get “SMURK” sorry couldn't come up with anything better
Not appropriate for a sitting prez
But it's free speech the constitution sez
He's changing a lot of peeps into a bunch of bed wetters

Pity Patty Peddy

Peddy don’t know-no betta to do,
he just following his imaginary urges,
friendly suggestions from TuSac Boy Blue
Sayin’ little Timmy and Sue
wanna play the same game too

Pity-patty

First fake squirt a few ...
then tell his new little buddies,
he made a tear boo-boo
Let him cry on the shoulder,
while his little hands privately
	wander over
down there and touch you

Peddy got caught
wid his hands in the honey pot
Patting his little head ... sweating hard,
and licking his lips a lot

Take po’ pity on Peddy,
‘cause his little fingers gon be
trying to pick the lock

Pity-patter of his little feet ...
lying to escape
another beating, and him eating
his own bad boy snot

Prison infirmary peeps sez:
Peddy’s short eyes memory
         most daze
don’t remember a lot

Much of what he does now ...
is suck his tiny thumb,
and finger diddle
wid the pretty little flower pot

Spicy Leaves the Carnival

So long, Spicy ...
sho’ hate to see you go
You were the best comic relief in the PT carnival
Prez Trump sez he don’t need you no mo’
So you publicly resigned
	 after getting the private heave-ho
So long, Spicy ...
it sho’ was fun having you around
The way you spun those alternative facts
		    was so crazy clumsy cool
How you and Kellyanne would go on the attack,
then backtrack from the shark press pool
Y’all were some kinda funny,
reverse moon-walking laughingstock fools
Now Kooky Kellyanne is still here, and you’re gone —
that just ain’t right, it’s so wrong
So long, Spicy ...
I’m gonna play another
Saturday Night Live sad, satirical song
Me and the ghetto gang is sho’ gonna miss you
		when you’re gone
(Mr. Robin Harris and BeBe kids will too)
But before you leave,
do me a favor willya please ...
tip your jilted jester cap
to the smiling PT freak show,
and give a dour derriere frown,
to the Inepters running this clown carnival

Swamp Cajun Curse

Down in Louisiana,
down in da bayou deep
Where sweaty bodies hear da swamp sounds
in da hot, steamy heat
Local people know Mamadou Sekkou
Medicine woman
born on da banks of da bayou
	300 lbs
of dark, dark skin
	charcoal black
Big bosomed woman
with black and silver wavy waterfalls
	flowing down her back
Mamadou Sekkou
sez she got a potion for you
Make your weak man strong,
make him love you all night long
Make him be yours from a man-child
til he be old in da bones
Make him be yours all his lifelong
Just don’t do Mamadou Sekkou wrong,
or a curse is gon rise from da swamp
Do da big Cajun woman right,
and a blessing gets added to your life
Mamadou Sekkou sez she a woman of God,
had da healing potion oracles passed down ...
straight from da root of da African bush
			that don’t burn
Mamadou Sekkou
sez she curse dem dat don’t never learn
Dem dat keep to da bad ways,
dem dat wear da gator gaze
Curse dem to da swamp dey go,
let da glowing eyes drag dey souls down below
Mamadou Sekkou
give dem da swamp Cajun curse ...
but she always try to turn dem right first

Premium MemberI Cannot Stand Poetic Forms - For Contest

I cannot stand poetic forms
I like them less than winter storms
they force me into ancient norms
of rhyming words in angry swarms
for I was frightened by Haiku
in darkened rooms -- I cried --- boo hoo.

Then came the metronomic tick
sez I: “what is this evil trick?”
now I must measure every rhyme
with tapping stick of metered time
I cannot…. will not, …..won’t ….I say
be forced inside the lines…..to stay.

For I shall dance….the poet’s dance
of shaggy hair….. of tattered pants
dance with those….. in tie and tails
rap with those….. released from jails
free demon words from fear’s cold cell
sing hymns resounding angels bell.

My crayons stray outside the lines
my words creation redefines
I am free to choose my words
soothing balm or cutting swords
to calm the hearts of troubled souls
as shovels digging dying’s holes.

And yet the verse is never Free
for it remains a part of me
wandering a poets hell
secrets it has yet to tell.
