Second row to the board!
These words could not just be ignored
I’m thinking but a vintage few
Would even start to have a clue
Nostalgia begs those days at school
With steely nuns whose stare would rule
Blackboards and their squeaky clamor
Chalked Arithmetic and grammar
When called upon to diagram
By row, we took final exam
Our sentence structure, now to see
Whose brain has not been absentee
With prepositions, verbs and nouns
We hit the boards, such eager sounds
Arms held tight, just the right angle
Participles must not dangle!
We write the wrongs of society
We sing the song of the bird with no voice
Praying the prayer of the preacher with no pullpit
We are the definition of your worst nightmare
Bound by sentence structure, we are drawn together
Elegant on one hand, abrasive with the other
Armed with the deadliest weapon known to man
The pen is a heat seaking missle on a straight line to the truth
We are the light at the end of a given passage
We are the mirror on society's wall of shame
We are poets, we are artist, we are writers!
Writing A Poem
Subject to write poem about I had selected
Sentence structure and spelling was corrected
Before poem printed on paper had been laid out
Also made sure knew what it was all about.
Writing a poem is something you will do
After thinking each subject through and through
When thought process has finally been fully completed
Formal check up of product is now needed.
Seems like you were sure and knew from beginning
That my great poem will be prize-winning
And then had to be stored into an archive
Through all time can readily, easily survive.
Must insure my poem met required standard
Through minds of many poets has meandered
So full of charm and also containing much bliss
Other poets started writing poems similar to this.
Above all, what will be my greatest goal?
It is for my poem to stay and remain in my soul
Then in heaven have it turned into a song
Forever there is where it finally will belong.

Today begins a comma conundrum.
Writing poetry that must contain twelve.
Exactly twelve, no less, no more, will challenge us galore.
Laughing my head off, I now begin vying for fun fame.
Very curious I have become about the contest sponsor’s game
English writing requires commas to separate sentences, clauses, and lists.
Come on, now, one and all; join the comma fun!
Omit not a comma after clauses lest you cause your sentence to run!
Mistakes in comma usage send communications quickly askew.
Meandering words upon the page can make a reader turn blue.
Adverbs such as: therefore, nevertheless, and furthermore need commas, too.
So, study sentence structure and tell comma usage mistakes adieu.

Sentence structure matters
Attention don't we really if pay
Build or to invention the we poem way
Might words just the scramble we as well
Everyone absurd that because it's will
Nicely don't words if the flow
Read will concisely them one no
Very really true it's apropos
What is because that silly we we wrote know
Scatter trying to now I'm not
Fun or for flatter this plot
Her to tell just I forgot
"Sentence" ... like a matters structure lot
If we don't really pay attention
To the way we build poem or invention
We might as well just scramble the words
Because everyone will think that it's absurd
If the words don't flow nicely
No one will read them concisely
Apropos it's very true really
Because we know that what we wrote is silly
Now I'm not trying to scatter
This plot for fun or flatter
I just forgot to tell her
A lot ... like "sentence structure matters"
I write because I can
and sentence structure doen't interest me
or what verb goes where
or when it all makes sense,
for I'm waiting for a moment
when some entity intervenes and
seems
to
write to rhyme
or,
time stops and a new idea
reaches within
to spin
me in a different direction than
when I entered here.
Exactly where am I, anyway?
On this machine they call it ....
cyberspace.
"They" (whoever " " are) have to label
every place and every time and
every other thing like rocks and trees
and a breeze
that breathes and does the universe know
that it can blow?
From the legal tablet lined in yellow
its a different space and place where
slowly the eraser seems
to work its magic or its tragic
when it wipes away
the best idea of the whole damn day ....
While I am here, Exactly where are You?
Reading me or is it only another name,
another body, another face, another place and
we are all the same
busily tapping on something
called
keys .....
as We write because We can.
She arrived the year I thought I broke free
From the seductive hold of art and all art-meets
I shunned the temptation
But she broke into my tube
Televising purpose and purple hibiscus
Her first fine flower of an early budding
In an enchanting voice and visage...
And something in me sought to pluck
At the comind of Half of a yellow sun
I trod from La Campaign Tropicana to Jazzhole
To keep a date with a daydream;
Sniffing into all the farflung path of her purple
Hibiscus
And there she was,the lady in my tube
I gazed longingly upon a stately sight with a well-
Laid out body structure
That mates so well with her sentence structure
There she was,the ancient child in a haste to change.
It was troubling,
That is memorizing.
Think, thought
Write, blot.
Something, nothing
Come on anything.
Sentence structure
Get's me flustered.
Character-Plot
Think and Thought.
Smile, stand straight,
Don't twitter or flutter.
Speak, talk,
Knees unlock.
Succeed, destroy, forgive,
If it's not over soon, I won't live.
Look around
Don't space out
My face is red,
So I stare instead
Don't shake or quiver,
Just speak and deliver
Done-Great,
My feelings relate.
