Scrape Poems

Scrape: To remove an unwanted covering or a top layer from something, usually with something sharp

Scrape away, at a life. You just weren’t given any real instructions –
so, you scrape like a carpenter
at grey washed walls, wanting
to peel off old paint – old memories,
in your head you scrap away
the talk back – that little
squirrel inside the trunk of your head
it scrapes.

You scrape and scream, you scrape and
feel the muscle of your right hand
figure the page into
something. You scrape
days and trash them. Who
will find them? Who cares that you scrape
while in labor? scrape every morning you wake –
scrape on body, scrape on heart, scrape on this
bloody life
until you just can’t scrape –

Premium MemberMaking Shovels Scrape

When shovels scrape
and make screeches
like fingernail grates
on blackboards,
you know the job
is almost done.
As shovels designed to scoop,
when flipped over and made to rake,
shriek their embarrassment.

The Sound of Shovels Scrape

A man once knelt beside a mirrored pool,
stared into the eyes of a faithless fool.
An empty soul who made a devil's pact,
to turn away from truth in search of fact.

With no light to shine on this troubled trail,
he then became lost, then slipped and fell.
Leaving all he knew for a promised lie,
he lived in darkness til the day he died.

Now all alone deep in his earthly tomb,
he ponders his choice of eternal doom.
He is kept awake from his peaceful sleep,
by the mournful hymns while the widows weep.

Sometimes he hears the sound of shovels scrape,
he knows another fool has sealed their fate.

Did Escape a Scrape With Rape

Did Escape A Scrape With Rape

What was known is that she did escape,
From what appeared to be only a scrape;
Up brought;
Only thought,
And not actually the performance of rape.

Scrape With Death

Scrape With Death

Was an artist who always liked to escape,
Until with death he did have quite a scrape;
And as directed,
Never genuflected;
Ended up dying due to being out of shape.

Scrape, Lather, Repeat

I want to scrape my hands raw,
peel away the loops and whorls,
make it scarlet

Scrape it
as you would fish scales,
but bloodied

Pour antiseptic on it
Let. It. Sting.

Then wash it away,
letting it flow
               down
                   the
                        drain.
                                 .
                                   .

Let it form callouses
to numb it,

Then start anew.

Scrape. Lather. Repeat.

Me in a funky mood.
Written while waiting in line at a bank.
For one whole hour.
We sure were one bunch of bored people there.

Scrape the Surface

See the skin scrape the surface
not enough pain
same spot a little harder
one little droplet of blood
not enough pain
same spot even harder
now there's a good flow of red droplets on the floor
different spot even harder plunge the knife through the skin giving a little twist
now theres even more on the floor
different spot now at the foot
cut the nail scream with even more pain then before
no blood on the floor
wake up
cool sweat
figure it was just a dream
looking down at the floor you scream
your scared and now you know it wasn't a dream.
