What yonder lies in distant sky,
and looks like lovely butterfly?
A cloud of gas that iodized
whose blazing beauty mesmerized.

Throughout the universe serene,
in Scorpius she can be seen,
this nebula of orange and green,
the stellar pride of heaven’s preen.

These particles that crystalized,
with nature’s beauty harmonized;
this bright celestial butterfly
that yonder lies in distant sky.

After the remote Big Bang cosmic chaos
in infinite void primal dust of matter chose
to cluster in captivating clumps so designed
in ethereal forms of nebula defined.

The cosmic winter’s prolong dark night
illumined in the universal primeval light
of unique stellar creation of sprawling galaxy
ushered sparkling spring of heavenly ecstasy.

In the celestial singular celebration
from the tapestry of Scorpius constellation
flew million light years in the deep space
the butterfly nebula with the cosmic grace.

Rose and Scorpius

Meet me at the corner of the Universe
Where it's peace and quiet
The darkness is regal
By the trillion dancing stars

Catch a glimpse of my smile
Under the glimmer of the lonely moon

Hush now,
I have a secret to tell,

Mars and Pluto
Are the flames of my love
And the Rose
Is mine for the taking

Bring me the one and only
Rose of Galaxies
Because it belongs to only me

And see me glow
Like the morning sun in August

In return
My constellation stars
Shaula and Lesath
Dips in the Milky Way
For you to immerse your soul
In my hidden galactic treasures

A Dream Too Far Distant

Night revolves in stillness,
reaching for the dawn.
Orion, Taurus and the Dogs,
yield to Deneb and the Swan.

And there in deep south rising,
a blood-tinged, pulsing heart,
Antares, stinger and the claws:
celestial works of art.

But now comes an intruder
amid Scorpius’ vivid stars,
for Antares is but mere rival
to the dazzling orb of Mars.

In dreams I've often wandered
and traversed empty space—
through darkest matter I have roamed,
yet yearned for just one place.

Its icy poles I’ve glimpsed from earth—
winds and saffron dust—
iron from exploded suns
gathered there as rust.

I’m sure I’d miss the color green—
long for skies of blue.
But brand new memories I’d espouse
forgetting hues I knew.

Alas, I'm tethered to the earth—
can’t travel into space.
So in twenty, maybe thirty years,
won’t you please go in my place?

The Stars

The Stars

It sings "twinkle twinkle little star" over and over again as it flickers on and off like a lightbulb.
I look up and see the stars.
They aren't stars but suns.
I close my eyes and I see Cancer the crab scooting over to say hi to Gemini.
As they chatter on about their neighbors Hercules wonders over to the hydra and slays him again.
Leo the lion stands waiting for Orion to mount and ride off to go on a hunt to find Scorpius.
Then Perseus on the Pegasus and Sagittarius riding the Phoenix fly away to go find the Sculptors home.
The Taurus himself ran from Orion many times but was caught in the end.
I blink and wonder what I just saw.
I don't dismiss it has a dream.
Why?
As I walk away I take one look back up and see Orion on Leo waving at me
Cancer and Gemini continue their dispute and the others continue their business.
These stars have something to hold in them.
Worth more then gold and silver combined.
     They hold memories and possibilities.
Something we here at home can't give.
This is the story they told me.

Dancing With a Star

I want to dance with a star, and just be let free,
Float above Orion's Belt, so no drama can reach me,
Take a swim in the Big Dipper, and just feel relaxed,
Hug the Great Bear, so i won't feel life's attacks,
Ride on Leo the lion, and let the air brush against my skin,
Breeze through my hair, having fun with Virgo, the Virgin,
Sit on Libra's scale, and let it balance me with a weight of gold,
Get bitten by Scorpius, and let all the happiness unfold,
Ride on a Sagittarius, as the centaur let me borrow his bow,
Take a trip with Capricorn, and let it take me wherever it go,
I want to dive with Aquarius, and swim alongside with Pisces,
Meet up with the twins Gemini, at least they truly like me,
Walk with Cancer the crab, to a galaxy that's super far,
Engrave this on my headstone, "Died happily, dancing with the stars."
