Why wait for Wally when Willy is willing
Wide world is warming, North Pole should be chilling
Wastrels are wanton while we save our schilling
Whales were saved with an effort that was thrilling
"What is worse than warming I wonder," he said
"Where women and men while on a sun bathed bed."
"Why," he wailed, "Waiting on car gas to be fed."
"Wait for wonders to sort gas from the warming thread"

Should have written this much sooner,
Now there’s just too much to say,
Even love-sick honeymooner
Wouldn’t leave his mom this way.
Last weeks all were good ones weren’t they?
No one knew what lay in store,
Easy talk as smooth as ballet
Sleep waltzed through the day and more.
I remember - were there coyotes?
Howls that laced peyote nights.
Desert air stirred pastel high notes
Cliffs that danced with ghostly lights.
Always there when ground fog lifted
By my side when shadows fell,
Guiding me when focus shifted,
Mom, you loved me, I could tell.
Tremulous now apprehension,
Something’s changing, like a spell,
Light that comes with new dimension!
Oh Mom, embrace your son’s farewell.

Poet’s Notes:
For Nancy Schilling, In loving memory of her son, Matthew.
Dude never asked to be a pirate,
Dude was just chilling,
but given a chance at that status,
of course he was willing.
He found it a life to be quite
distilling,
with cannons, and swords, and an occasional
schilling.
Well one day his mates asked
Dude what was wrong,
and Dude said, "It's been months, since
I've hit a bong.",
picked up his guitar and sang them a song.
"I'm stressing, I'm frieking, this life out
at sea;
It's time to set forth a monumental
decree.
This killing, this stealing, this life ain't fer' me,
let's chill, and play music, and live peacefully.
We'll drink, and we'll think, and we'll smoke lots of
tree.
We'll sail and spread Love, and grow easily;
we'll live for the day, and in harmony."
Well the mates huddled up, and broke
out in form,
and told Younkavich
that they would conform.
And their ship, which was sunk,
sailed away from the storm.
