Premium MemberDreams to Dust

     A pony
       her dream
          only

     orthodontics
       violin lessons
         yearly safaris

       these exigencies
         dreams to dust
            duly turn

Dreams Fade

Curtains lift to changing scenes–
mountains conquered, fairytales.
Leisurely visits to heavenly beaches,
dissolves of scenic Bali,
montage of bohemian safaris,
unicorns, ocean of repertoire,
kaleidoscopic and bewitching,
invisible to all else–
form a halo.
Camouflage from the ambient
to stave off annoying knocks.

Flying carpet glides above the
storms and provides
escape from the churns.
A safe haven from shrapnels,
coming from many directions,
known but mostly unknown
and a flood of wonderment––why?
Sources vary and roots hide from the light.

As journey reaches foggy trails,
retrospection begins to nibble at the halo

My Squidgy Dog

This date, he left, many years ago, my friend.
Sqidgy, his name, my dog, a mutt, personified.
As a pup sat in my shirt top pocket,
oft slept to the beat of my heart,
days when I walked miles on insect safaris.
Other days he'd walk by my side,
I'de lose him, so close he walked to my feet.
My walks now, he's still with me,
an obliging muse, his sense of humour
has me thinking that I'm barking mad.
Happy I am that he in spirit, is still my friend.
Its like he guides me to sights I've never seen.
A solitary bee species mating, a tiny male a huge Queen
A sight not seen by many,
Naturalists being no exception.
I still miss my cuddly friend, I sit, I ponder,
Is there an up there?
Will we again play ball?

Quick

Reading diaries of different discussion blots is considered to be akin to perusing the top shelf of a historical library section. Each label once worn drops like stones sinking into the carpet and creases of streamed floorboards. Floorboards do float don't they? Have you not seen the many that pass the doors? They are quicker than the doors anyway so best spray the armpits and go jogging then. Thought the woodworm athletic tribe. Gathering gabled garbled gargling gatherings greet giant Gregorian gargoyles getting generally gifted garters gutting grouped gismo geckos. How triumphant then? And hopefully a dance will last longer than a sharp snapped second. Seconds are neither seams, seamstresses, nor stressed sultanas in safaris and saris, nor are they acrimonious android alphabetical alpacas racing to a degree of a nine foot tail spin. Ring ran road. And a big lorry leering. Lecherously. Leeches lingering. And limbs lumber. How rather audaciously brilliant then. Isn't it? Kent jam race on the large spoon. Z meteorologic Z at fifty cones carving creative cosmoses' to sixteen apples in leotards cheering on the waves. 1 2 3 4 ~ and clam. Z

Lion Lion

Lion you are awesome king
The king of the jungle
You are a mighty one
You are the feared by many
Your roar is loud and scary
It echoes all around
through the prairies and safaris
The animals are frightened when they hear it
They run and hide for their lives
You follow them in pursuit
Hungry, hungry for a meal
This is your way for survival
Your crown golden hair is majestic
It shows pride and attract lioness
Your jaw and canine are crushing
At day light you rest and have a nab
At the night you are awake and ready
scouting for a prey
Long, long live you lion
You still the king of the jungle

The Fanatical Addict

Her husband told her
that her get up and go
must have gotten up and left,
because his wife spent most of her time
watching tv or being on the internet,
saying she never got any exercise,
she replied "yes I do, I'm always
"surfing" the channels or going
on "safaris" on the net!"
he said "honey, at least go outside
and walk somewhere with our pet!,"
"alright", she replied with a tone of resent,
taking the dog and walking to her favorite spot,
she climbs in the hammock
and pops open her laptop.

A Garden of Love

I'll bring the avocados
And feed you as you come for safaris
Like my mother did, further beyond the Kalahari
And we can share the dips, the spreads and the shakes with all kind of stories
In the sunny and in the starry

Or you can plant one seed at a time like Johnny Appleseed
Or bring flowers from continent to continent and let them breed
Export that rare plant so I can also see
With your love and my love, we can feed so many, just with our deeds

Come to my garden, plant something and let's watch it grow
Spread the seeds or put them in rows
It can be free style and freely can flow
No rules, no limits and it can even be slow
Just bring the sweet love mango in you and let it glow

Sighting

Friends go on safaris
To observe life in the wild.
Here in New York City,
All the wildlife’s fairly mild.

But yesterday I had a thrill
To vanquish any scowl
For, hidden in a leafy tree,
There sat a saw-whet owl.

Birders with binoculars
Had homed in on this treasure
And the little bird sat still,
Just filling us with pleasure.

I’ve never seen an owl alive
Except those in a zoo
And here was one in Central Park -
A saw-whet, too – who knew?

It wasn’t quite a lion
Or a zebra or giraffe
But my saw-whet owl sighting
Was excitement and a half!

Loxodonta Loxodonta Africanus - African Elephants

Worn down by migration's perils;
Worn down by Neolithic spears -
They survived.

Though sabre-tooth gnashings stayed them;
Though Dire-wolves pack-savaged them -
They survived, they survived.

Though pursued by pharaohs for sport;
Though hannibalised by the armies of Zama -
They survived.

Through the ravaging of ivory coffles;
Through Tippu Tib's and Karamoja's lustings -
They survived, they survived.

Through Mutesa's and Lobengula's slayings;
Through the fauna annihilation of the Boers -
They survived.

Through King Leopold's bloody harvests;
Through trophy accumulators on safaris -
They survived, they survived.

Civilization had not yet flickered;
Its embers may have long faded -
They survive.

One thing to learn from them:
Inoffensive sagacity -
They survive, they survive, they survive.

Note 1: this is an imitation of the format of a beautiful poem “Trees” by Ondra Lysohorsky
Note 2: Tippu Tib, Karamoja Bell, Mutesa and Lobengula were all involved in the nineteenth century ivory trade.

Leo Just a Sign

Leo a zodiac sign
Lion King of jungle
Forget empire, many Leos homeless
Truly, its just a sign !

Leader, snobbish, extrovert
centre of circle, clever, dedicated
But many Leos biting dust in practical world
Truly, its just a sign !

Jungles are shrinking
Lion specie is in danger
Yeah many a Leos dying for survival
Truly, its just a sign !

Lions are in cages, amusement safaris
Leos trapped in wordly maze, gaze the cage from outside
As if human Leo sympathising jungle Lion
Truly, its just a sign !

Have anyone heard the real roar ?
Well fed zoo lions are fed up of roaring
haven't tasted live blood, Leos blood sucked
Truly, its just a sign !
