Premium Member Unforgettable Roles

Immersing in child's role playing of great delight
I was Mom, nursing baby doll
Mentor, cheering stuffed monkeys
Doc, hoisting stethoscope toy
Lawyer, defending pet cats…
...Now, God's hand molds me to build lives by His grace.

Nostalgia

I stand before it,
Something that was my present in past,
And is yesterday today,
Something that has become a memory at last.

A shade of yellow settled in my eyes,
Which would now reminisce everything in sight,
Bidding my last goodbyes,
Everything slowly flushed by a sepia light.

Those tarnished blue coloured walls,
That have been hit by our class’ cricket balls,
Those trees of green,
Which luminate the autumn sheen.

This role playing ground,
Changing its character as occasions are found,
Once a ground to our sports fest,
Another to when our parade isn’t at rest.

Those now-never-to-be-seen teachers,
Whose faces I miss,
These dusky classes,
Which now strike a lighting bliss.

Memories hidden in those benches and blackboards,
Each one has a story it hoards.
The forgotten tales of when I thought ‘their’ and ‘there’ were same,
Would be recalled if the wood had a mouth and a name.

Past is the moon,
Memories, the water,
Nostalgia, the tide,
Nothing to be felt but a warm collide.

Premium Member FONDEST MEMORY

I cherish role playing with delight
as a caring mother, called as home's light
in a never-to-be-forgotten joyous sight
as a child in my dramatic actress-plight!

Not to be buried in oblivion was that wondrous zest
when my doll I would kiss, midst warm love, sweetest
like nursing a babe --- feeling so blest
shielding a very precious treasure against pest!

I was then seven years of age with a parent role
to manifest Mama's best dutiful heart as a goal
thrilled for doing my best with all my might and soul
even winning an award that marked achievement-whole!

Grateful* to God for my parents I surely miss
constantly I experience serene bliss
for fondest memory from mind and heart's abyss
now as a Mom in an Orphanage with kids, treating each one as Brod and Sis!

*1Thessalonians 5:18 KJV: In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Role Playing With Fire

Role Playing With Fire

Fact and fiction
Role play with fire
Black is now white
Truth now a liar

Shall I be silent
Blindfold my tears
Bury my head
Dismiss all my fears

Shall I do nothing
Sit on my fists
Ignore all the hatred
That surely exists

Shall I be deaf
Cotton my ears
Block out the drumbeat
Of doom in the air

If I see something
Shall I say something
Or just walk on by
Ignore what’s occurring

Shall I self censor
Let truth expire
While Fact & fiction
Role play with fire

O, elvenstone! O, elvenstone!
O, would that you could be my own.
To quest exhausted, all these years,
And not obtain those pointy ears
To sharpen sense, to hear my phone.

O battle axe! O battle axe!
For thy pursuit, my patience lacks.
Through garbage bins in fishing wharves,
Midst arguments with boorish dwarves;
My neighbor’s tree needs forty whacks.

Fine coat of mail, thy filigree
Would sure enhance the likes of me.
So tightly woven, silver, pale
Protect unwanted barbs’ assail
When getting honey from my bees.

Thou mighty blade, enchanted runes
Do grace thy hilt but not those hewn.
Sure, separating sinew, bone,
Ne’er losing edge in dirt or stone,
When Saturday, the hedge I prune.

I think that we can both agree:
When I immerse in D&D,
I get so caught up in the game,
Imagination is to blame;
Sometimes I blur reality.

Role Playing With Strangers

We paddle through small talk,
I like her, she has style.
I imagine we have a history together
back in an old movie that I have yet to see.

I begin to construct a lost and anecdotal life.
In another place we’re a vaudeville act
wisecracking between meal tickets.
Our home, a trunk covered in Midwest decals.
We share the occasional Spam sandwich,
theater gossip and sleaze; we cuddle
as we trundle along
long defunct rail tracks.

We date in elevators,
make out in a battered Oldsmobile.
In Bangkok, we share a ride in a Tuk-Tuk
careening down narrow streets.
On any sidewalk, we meet regularly
as reflections in windowpanes.

Today you’ve gone to Guatemala
to fight for a right.
Marimba music plays
as you climb up my spine.

Time now to rent more space
outside these traveling dreams.

Premium Member If I Could Write Stories

If I could write a story,
It would be based on me.
I promise I’m no Mary Sue,
But I’d want to express
All of my inner mentality.

If I could write a story for you,
It would be based on us.
I promise it will be remnant of you,
But I will only try to express
All our ideas we used in role-playing.

If I could write a story for others,
It would be based on a message.
I promise that it’ll be good uplifting bad,
But I would do my best to express
All of my thoughts on different feelings.

If I could only write a story,
I would need more ideas.
I lack motivation to complete,
But really I’m aware of my potential.

If only I could write a story,
I would need someone like you to illustrate it.
I can draw in my own way,
But really what I envision cannot be done by me.

If only I could write a story,
I would need a vast audience.
I think I believe I can someday write books,
But really deep within I feel impotent.

If I can write all those stories,
It would make one enjoy reading them.
I would feel glad to finally be a true writer,
But I would have to learn to edit and review
All my past experiences and values.

Premium Member The Blank Page

I sit here looking at a blank page
Inside a stay at home cage
I do have my friends in my mind
Role playing that I see and need to define
There are no boundaries that state how close they can come
That is why our literature fantasies are so much fun
As they act out their story
My keyboard gets a workout that is very wordy
Six feet apart my characters are not
When they keep me company telling me a dreamy plot
There are no crowded filled arenas blocking visibility
Only a conflict that to me has sensibility
An empty seat between two
Will bring peace not a feud
Creating more space
Allows the imagination to comfortably build its case
Being an author is lonely and time consuming
But nothing can interrupt it that could ruin it
Just a feeling to share
With someone out there
Who may be trapped in the stay at home cage
Appreciating what I wrote on the blank page

What is real?

                                      Depth
                                      width
                                      or height

                                      Passion,
                                      friendship
                                      or love

                                      Falsehood
                                      and role-playing
                                      Lie and deception

                                  Can I trust you?

                                      Facade ... creates distance
                                      Honesty ... creates strong ties

A sailor who loved costume parties
would shout out a wild, “Aye, me hearties!”
This old buccaneer,
role playing with cheer,
got mimicked by all the young smarties.

Premium Member Barbie Dolls

Little sisters enthralled
in a world of fairy tale
making sense
of the universe
role playing
in teeny high heels
and glam clothes
in a big pink castle

One learns to run the show
and grows up to be a director
while the other stays
caught up in the fantasy
of her Barbie and Ken reality

MY HOBBIES---

Since the dawn of 60's
Art and music been close to me
The colors the canvas papers and inks pens
Art drawings Ahh!! yes those Stan Lee Marvel comics
A collector I was and still am
This was and is an activity I engage in for historical reasons and pleasure

Forming a comic club first before role playing cards became popular
In music in high school was in a few groups
But mainly vested in lyric/songwriting my best friend and I
From tenth grade in creative writing class until present time-now
Yet still I write songs and poems
A total of three published works

So I love to collect and read, Marvel comic books
Love to create and draw my own super heroes
Love to write songs and poems praising God
An activity I engage in for historical reasons and pleasure
These are my hobbies I love
An activity interest pursued outside my regular occupation I engaged in primarily for pleasure.
Collecting drawing comics
Reading creating poems and songs
Listening to Christian and Gospel music and K-love
These are the hobbies I does...
