ANOTHER THOUGHT ON QUITE RINGING EARS
The ears continue
to ring out profound silence,
echoing life:
When the echoes reveal,
Wisdom and understanding?
Ringing silent ears;
let us give God thanksgiving
for echoing life:
Without the quiet ringings,
Would we be in this loud world?!
Let us be happy;
wisdom and understanding
quietly ringing out:
God speaks in so many ways:
Think of quiet ears ringing:-

ears ring loudly to themselves:
nothing else is heard

I hear a sound,
drum in my ear.
Of crystal droplets,
from streaming tears.
A distant murmur,
or a hissing sound.
A weeping mourner,
a heavy pound.
A sudden splash,
or a humming ring,
when metals clash,
or glasses clink.
But the sound of words,
when they appear.
Will bring some joy,
to a tinnitus ear.

The bells are ringing, hear the joyous sound
For these are the days for new paths to be found
For change and breakthrough
Ring echoes of fresh start in every heart
Miracles are abounding, all around
Where even the smallest of action, gets crowned
Favor follows every where we go
Victories, like a river, follow and flow
His favor, a shield of protection
Wrapped in a new, divine connection
When there seems to be no way
Doors open, giving access to a brighter day
For He is the Way, the Truth and the Life
The hope of glory, shining bright
Let the sound rise, a symphony of praise
For Christ in us is the hope of glory, always.

Making bells ring and sing
Within the beating soul
Within the ringing heart
Of the community
Playing my hidden part
Making bells ring and sing
Handstroke and soon backstroke
Feeling the church’s weight
Feeling the weight of bells
In a cycle of fate
Making bells ring and sing
Playing Plain Hunt Triples
Casting away thunder
Double Canterbury
Filled with holy wonder
Making bells ring and sing
This heart is slowing down
This ancient blood darkens
Up and down, we still ring
Behind dark red curtains

It started in three thousand BC
When for survival, warning sounds were key
These utility communications
Building sender-receiver relations
Secular signs, religious ritual
The use of bells became habitual
Calling to worship or tolling the hours
Announcing events all from bell towers
Locating bells for pet rabbits and cats
For goats in the hills and cows on the flats
Such animals of all manner and form
Even the lead camel in a sand storm
What news of the ship in faraway seas?
Lutine strikes two as it sails on fresh breeze
Westminster must keep to the where and when
By the hour bell of the great clock, Big Ben
Times have changed, we live in this modern place
Technology seeps and invades our space
Now digital gizmos replace the bell
All that’s left is to sound its own death knell

I heard a ringing, it must be my phone.
So, off I ran, I was home alone.
I looked high, I looked low.
I even looked in the Freezer below.
I looked upstairs and down again.
I looked in the oven, then the trash bin.
I looked so much until it stopped ringing.
I felt so glad that I started singing.
Then I heard it start once more.
I was determined to settle the score.
The sound of the ringing was mocking me.
I could hear it, but my eyes could not see.
Was I losing it and paying the cost?
I will show you that phone who's the boss!
Hurray, I found my phone just in time.
Only to hear a telemarketer on the line

Those church bells
Keep ringing in my soul, in my soul;
The angels keep singing in the choir
Louder and louder
Praising ever so higher and higher, higher
And I O’ I don’t
Oh! I won’t apologize
For them those church bells ringing in mine ears
Those church bells
Keep ringing in my soul, in my soul;
The angels keep singing in the choir
Louder and louder
Praising ever so higher and higher, higher

“Springtime”
The dark days of winter have passed
The snow gone at last.
The cold, a memory forborne.
As the Earth awakens
Will the meadows turn green?
Will the bluebirds sing?
Will the mission bells ring?
Will the cherry trees bloom?
Will mankind repent,
Make way for new dreams?
Will she return to me?
How I long to see
The dark winter of war
Be gone.
The cherry blossoms
Dress the DC mall.
The swallows return to
San Juan Capistrano.
How I long to see
The newness of it all,
The birth of a lamb,
The budding of trees,
The greening of grass.
It is time to seed the earth,
To shake a neighbor’s hand,
To repair the hearts and land.
Let it rain spring
Across this land and
In its many hearts.
The Meadows are greening.
The Bluebirds are singing.
The Mission bells are ringing.
The Cherry trees are blooming.
It is indeed a time to celebrate.
It is indeed a time to reflect and repair.
She returns to me
She will return indeed
To the many in need. 3/23/2022

I’ve seen the bell
It’s ringing
Acrid stench of chemo hell
D * O * N * E * ! *
The knell
of
my mom
tears
S * T * I * N * G * ing!
Baldheaded friend
best
have better
return
‘cause
my mom likewise
rang
that bell extra
hard
she rang
it in victory
then
the worst day
E * V * E * R
we
live
over and over and over
again

Do you question the ringing of the bell
That sounds the passing of one known so well
We who shared our life as we grew old
And was part of our story that would unfold
For each journey will have an end
From which we cannot each amend
And the memories that come back to me
Of you the one we will not again see
So the next day will begin as it always will
And each hour will endure to the night is still
For as sure as night will follow day
You will live in my memories that remain always.
