The Ringing of the Bell

Do you question the ringing of the bell That sounds the passing of one known so well We who shared our life as we grew old And was part of our story that would unfold For each journey will have an end From which we cannot each amend And the memories that come back to me Of you the one we will not again see So the next day will begin as it always will And each hour will endure to the night is still For as sure as night will follow day You will live in my memories that remain always. © Paul Warren Poetry
